a Blue5 Concerto far Hamvnica, Piam and Orchestra

Commissioned by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Seiji Ozawa, conductor and music director, in commemoration of the Bicentennial of the United States of America, with the assistance of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The work, begun in Chicago during late 1974, was completed in San Francisco on 5 November 1975 with generous help from Corky Siegel, for whom this work was written.
First recorded by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Seiji Ozawa with Corky Siegel, harmonica and piano, on Deutsche Grammophon 2530 788.

The small ensemble should be placed in front of the orchestra to one side of the conductor, with the soloist(s) placed on the other side.
The score is notated at concert pitch except for the piccolo (sounding an octave higher) and the double bass (sounding an octave lower).
For winds," = true slur; absence of markings indicates legato tongue.
