In its original form Regina Takes the Holy Road December 1994 is the central section from Mr. Kitzke s 1995 honor piece for his blood family, The Redness of Blood commissioned

by Zeitgeist as part of the Music- in- Motion Program. It is an elegy for his paternal grandmother , Regina Kitzke , who died at age 91 in December of 1994 , and to whose indomitable spirit and shining exemplary life this music is dedicated. Special thanks to Zeitgeist in all its incarnations.

The vocalist/ody percussionist part may be performed by 1- 4 players. If performed by 1 player , the sung part at the beginning of page 2 should resolve to C#. All vocals should be performed with great theatrical verve. In the opening vocals Teeth- Pucker ' refers to the positioning of the mouth through a steady hissing sound.
