SERMON OUTLINE

KINDNESS THAT SURPRISES

Proverbs 11:17; 2 Samuel 9:1–13

Bottom Line: God’s kindness consistently surprises us.

God’s kindness surprises us because…

• It moves toward the undeserving.

• It restores what shame has taken away.

• It gives us a place at the King’s table.

Mephibosheth expected judgment. He received welcome .

How do we cultivate kindness that surprises?

1. Remember the kindness you have received.

2. Move toward someone who cannot repay you.

3. Make room at your table.
