Romans 2:1–4

“God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” –Romans 2:4
Kindness: The Fruit That Transforms
Kindness is more than being nice. It is the fruit of the Spirit, rooted in God’s kindness toward us, formed through practice, and expressed with courage.
Kindness Begins with God’s Kindness to Us
True kindness begins when we realize that God has shown us grace we did not earn and mercy we did not deserve. His kindness does not ignore truth; it leads us toward repentance and transformation.
Ten Ways Kindness Changes Us:
1. Kindness softens our hearts.
2. Kindness turns our attention to others.
3. Kindness reshapes our instincts.
4. Kindness deepens our humility.
5. Kindness heals broken relationships.
6. Kindness cultivates compassion.
7. Kindness creates a sweet aroma in our culture.
8. Kindness lowers the temperature.
9. Kindness brings healing to us as well as others.
10. Kindness bears fruit beyond what we can see.
• Kindness Is Inspired by the Spirit: Kindness is not rooted in personality, politeness, or self-interest. It grows from the Spirit’s work in us. The soil of kindness is the recognition that we are broken people saved by grace, and that every person we encounter is made in the image of God.
• Kindness Is Formed Through Practice: Kindness grows as we practice it. It may be expressed through large acts of service, but it often begins with simple, ordinary choices: greeting someone, noticing the lonely, encouraging the discouraged, or serving quietly where there is a need.
• Kindness Is Expressed Through Courage: Kindness often requires courage because it may place us in difficult, messy, or misunderstood situations. Kingdom kindness is not weakness. It is strength shaped by grace.
“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” –Matthew 7:16-20
