SERMON OUTLINE A C O U R A G E O U S P R AY E R Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. 1

Ten surprises from a prayer you think you already know: 1. Sheep only lie down if they’re full. 2. Sheep often get lost. 3. The death-shadow ravine is real. 4. Fear melts when God moves from “He” to “You.” 5. Sheep are vulnerable and require constant care. 6. Only a servant prepares the table. 7. The feast is more expensive than you think. 8. You are a cherished guest. 9. You are being followed. 10. The invitation to dwell starts now.

Daily Dwell: December 21-27 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. - Psalm 23:6

Every month we will explore a different fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control— and discover how God nurtures these qualities in our lives. Join us as we look forward to a year of deeper transformation and a closer walk with Jesus.
