SERMON OUTLINE FAITHFULNESS THAT STANDS FIRM Daniel 3
1. THE IMAGE: The world is always asking us to bow (v. 1-7) “As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold…” – Daniel 3:5
2. THE STAND: Faithfulness obeys without knowing the outcome (v. 8-18) …the God we serve is able to deliver us from it…But even if he does not…we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” – Daniel 3:17-18
3. THE FURNACE: God meets his people in the fire (v. 19-25) “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed…” – Daniel 3:25
4. THE WITNESS: Faithfulness makes the reality of God visible (v. 26-30) “They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” – Daniel 3:28b
FURNACE QUESTION: I believe God is able to
.
But even if he does not, I will
.
What difference does your faith actually make? In Because I Believe, Dr. Kannwischer invites us to move beyond simply believing the Apostles’ Creed to actually living it—discovering how faith can shape the way we trust, love, suffer, hope, and engage the world.
Because the question isn’t just what you believe. It’s what difference it makes.
