SERMON OUTLINE FAITHFULNESS THAT PROVIDES 1 Kings 17:1-16
1. IN THE DROUGHT: Examine what you trust. “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain…” – 1 Kings 17:1 NIV What has scarcity revealed about where I look for security?
2. AT THE STREAM: Take the next step. “Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him: ‘Go at once to Zarephath …’” – 1 Kings 17:7-9a NIV What is the next faithful step God is asking me to take?
3. WITH THE JAR: Give and receive God’s provision. “The jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry…” – 1 Kings 17:16 NIV What is in my hands that God might use to provide for someone else?
Faithfulness doesn’t mean you know how things will work out. It means you keep going. The drought may be severe. The stream may dry up. The jar may be nearly empty. But the faithfulness of God will not run out.
Grow in grace. Live your faith. Become more like Jesus.
