Peachtree City Library Schedule of Events

INFORMATION (READ FIRST)

.All registration is doneonline.When registering you must have a PINES library card.Any reservation without a valid PINES library card number willbe automatically cancelled. No Shows without a 2 hour cancellation notice will be charged a feeof $2 for each unused ticket. This fee will be charged to the library card.

DO NOT register a friend unless you are sure they will attend,otherwise YOU will be responsiblefor theno-show fee.

Bring your own snack and drink.Children sit on the floor so you may want to bring a blanket/pillow. No registration required.

Programs will last 30 minutes. No registration required.

July 17th– Ken Scott Presents: Dino-Mite Magic Show (Magic Show)

Ken Scott will be held in the lower level of the library in the Floy Farr Room. Please use the lower level entrance. Registration opens the Monday prior to each Friday performance

Pokémon League (Ages 6+)

Thursdays, June 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th & Thursdays, July 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th

@ 5:00-6:30pm

NOTE: All ages are welcome, but be advised this event primarily supports younger players (ages6-13).

Please keep in mind, parents of elementary age children must be nearby at all times.Parents of older children are also advised to stay in the library.

Children are stronglyrecommended to bring one of thefollowing to participate:

- Smartphone/ tablet for Pokémon Go

- a Nintendo Switch to play Pokémon games

- Pokémon trading cards for trading or battling

DISCLAIMER: Whilenot a frequent occurrence, theft of Pokémon cards has happened in the past. Parents must now sign a weekly Pokémon Theft

Acknowledgement Waiver before dropping children off.Players 13yrs or older may sign their own form. This paperwork outlinestheresponsibilities of children,parents and players to watch their own belongings so they will not be stolen.It is also recommended to label ALL of your child’s Pokémon belongings and toys before arriving to deter the possibility of theft or lost items.

Drop-In Lego Program (Ages 5+)

Tuesdays, June 2nd, 30th & July 7th, 21st @ 2:00pm-4:00pm

Join us at Peachtree City Library for open LEGO building and fun.Children are invited to unleash their creativity as they construct imaginative creations using colorful LEGO bricks.This free event fosters teamwork and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment.For ages 5+, however parental supervision is required.

TEEN/TWEEN PROGRAMS

Teen Writing Workshop & Author Visit (Ages 10-15)

Friday, June 12th @ 2:00pm

Join Peachtree City Library for a writing workshop, author talk, and booksigning with Atlanta author Melanie Dale.The workshop will include topics on writing, creating, and revising a novel. Celebrate the release of her young adult novel Girl of Lore, which will be available for purchase.

Jazzercise for Teens (Ages 10-15)

Thursday, June 18th @ 2:00pm

Join Peachtree City Library for Jazzercise! More than just a workout—it’s a full-body fitness experience that combines dance cardio, strength training, and stretching into one energizing class.Set to upbeat music, this program helps improve cardiovascular endurance, build lean muscle, and boost flexibility, all while keeping you motivated and having fun.

Intro to AI for Teens/Tweens (Ages 10-15)

Thursday, June 25th @ 2:00pm

This fun and interactive workshop introduces students to the world of artificial intelligence through hands-on activities, creative exploration, and real-time use of AI tools. This session helps students understand what AI is, how it works, and how to use it safely and responsibly while building confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Seating is limited.

Teen Interactive Minecraft Lost in Atlantis (Ages 10-15)

Thursday, July 9th @ 2:00pm

Teens will explore an immersive underwater adventure where they investigate the mysteries of Atlantis through teamwork, problem-solving, and creative building. Along the way, they'll develop critical thinking and collaboration skills while designing their own unique underwater worlds.

Calligraphy Workshop for Teens (Ages 10-15)

Thursday, July 23rd @ 2:00pm

Join us at Peachtree City Library for a teen calligraphy workshop and learn the craft and history of Italic Calligraphy. Markers and paper will be provided. Supplies and seats are limited.

Registration required unless otherwise stated. Programs last 60-90 minutes. Space limited.

Drop-In Board Game Day (All Ages)

Celebrate Summer with a board game. Join Peachtree City Library for a fun filled time with a variety of classic and new board games for all ages. This is a drop-in event.

Books Before Kindergarten Community

Celebration Event @ Picnic Park

Thursday, June 6th @ 10:00am-12:00pm

Celebrate the 1K Books Before Kindergarten Challenge with Peachtree City Library! Pop-in to learn more about the wonderful program and enjoy festivities that include stories, snacks, activities, and a visit from Biscuit the dog! This is a drop-in event, free and open to the public.

No registration required.

CAREing Paws, Come Read to a Dog (Waitlist Only)

Saturdays, June 13th & 27th @ 10:30am Saturdays, July 11th & 25th @ 10:30am

The CAREing Paws Program utilizes registered therapy dogs to improve literacy skills for children. Children must have a basic knowledge of reading. Open to children in 1st-5th Grade.

The library offers six 20 minute slots. Parents must reserve a time slot in advance for their child. Children may bring a book or choose a book at the library. Registration Required. For more information or to register call the library 770-631-2520.
