Guess what post-quarantine Halloween doesn’t have time for, queer boys and ghouls? Your bullsh*t.
by Mikey Rox
The Ghosts of Halloween Costumes Past have spoken, and this go-round there shall be no sexy firemen, no sexy chefs, and abso-trickin’-lutely no sexy pirates, so help us God. That doesn’t mean you’re required to keep your shirt (or pants) on as you get down with the devil on All Hallow’s Eve, but let’s all agree to put the basic bitchness on the backburner for now, shall we? To that end, we’ve dug deep into the queer year’s most topical hoots, howls and happenings to help you conjure up a skeleton’s-closet worth of fright night-spiration to make this Oct. 31 one for the (c)ages.
Industry Baby
Lil Nas X kept tongues wagging all summer long as he dropped radio banger after banger, culminating in a crescendo of groundbreaking looks and appearances leading up to the release of “Montero,” the openly gay rapper’s debut studio album. To create one of the most iconic looks from the album’s promotion, which you can cop from X’s Instagram page, fashion yourself an exposed baby bump flanked by an allover-print silk robe, white trousers, and neck bling to boot. For a wilder take, fully birth the concept and go as the bundle of joy itself, which we think probably shares partial DNA with “American Horror Story: Death Valley”s half-human, half-alien hybrid, Theta (Angelica Ross), but you can be the judge of that.
On October 1, LGBTQ+ corporate ally LEGO released the “Queer Eye” Fab 5 Loft building set, complete with Karamo, Jonathan, Antoni, Tan and Bobby minifigures and show-staple accessories, like Tan’s clothing rack and Antoni’s kitchen island (where we’re sure he’s toiling over tiny culinary creations like fancy hot dogs and elevated grilled cheese – but we digress). Stay above our fray as you gather the squad to build a group ’fit that starts with generic minifigure costumes, available on Amazon, that you can zhuzh up any which way you’d like to capture the essence of their decidedly dramatic and distinct personas.
‘The White Lotus’s Armond and Dillon
Start filling out your “Magnum P.I.”-era ’stache now if you’re planning this couples costume featuring “The White Lotus”s illfated hotel manager Armond and his semiwilling butt buddy, Dillon, which requires more printed-pastel resort wear for the former than the latter. Play it any way you’d like for the party proper – without the lethal doses of coke, we hope – and then head home to reenact that instantly iconic sex scene set to the show’s sinister, anxietyinducing tribal-music score.
Want a foolproof recipe for Halloween thirst-trap success? Slip into a pair of snug Wranglers and dusty cowboy boots – shirtless – and stream on repeat countrymusic duo Brooks and Dunn’s reinvigorated 1992 single “Neon Moon” (better known on TikTok as #TheSunGoesDown) through your portable Bluetooth speaker. You’re guaranteed to save at least one horse tonight.
Out comedian Bowen Yang gives us plenty of camp in the characters he portrays on “Saturday Night Live,” but none have gone over quite as well as his sassy personification of the iceberg that sank the Titanic on the NBC mainstay’s “Weekend Update” segment, which was likely a major tipping point in his nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series this year – making him the first featured player on the show to receive such recognition. Recreate the costume by carving a large block of painted Styrofoam fitted to your head and complete the getup with makeup, turtleneck and bedazzled thrift store suit in glacial tones, like white and hypothermia blue.
When Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib came out publicly in an Instagram story on June 21 – becoming the first active NFL player in history to do so –jerseys and T-shirts bearing his name were the top sellers among all league players at
popular sportswear retailer Fanatics. Now that they’re back in stock, add one to your online cart, round up a helmet, pads, and a pair of cleats, and spring for the tight, white, standard-issue football pants (that you’ve always wanted anyway) at your local Dick’s. Jock strap optional – but the players don’t wear one, so why should you?
Goes-Both-Ways Robin
Tim Drake, the third iteration of Batman’s legendary sidekick Robin, came out as bisexual in the August issue of “Batman: Urban Legends” (which sold out within days and required a second printing of the issue (#6), a rarity in the comic-book world), confirming what us queers suspected about the Boy Wonder all along. If you’ve never suited up as the Dynamic Duo’s swishier half, consider celebrating his recent addition to the LGBTQ+ community. The iconic character, now swinging around Gotham and both ways, is so ubiquitous this time of year that you’ll find his signature tights and mask anywhere costumes are sold.
Olympic Diver Knitting
Trying to save coin this spooky season? Slap on a Union Jack-plastered Speedo
with a ball of yarn in one hand and a knitting needle in the other. Put some effort into it and you could have a handcrafted cock sock by the end of the night.
The Faggot from Matt Damon’s Mouth
We can’t say we were shocked (stirred perhaps, but not shaken) when Matt Damon revealed himself to be a dinner-table bigot after earlier this year he told the press a story about casually dropping the F-bomb over meat and potatoes with the fam (which apparently he had no idea was offensive until his daughter schooled him “Good Will Hunting”-style), so it’s only fitting we give him the Halloween send-up he deserves. Let your interpretation of the faux pas run wild, but dressing up as Liberace-lover and common criminal Scott Thorson, whom Damon played in 2013’s “Behind the Candelabra,” is a solid jumping-off point.

As I sit on the plane to Palm Springs, CA a few things stick out to me: The faint humming of the plane engine behind the sounds of music preparing me for vacation, the soft linen clothing that was draped across the bodies of men and women traveling into the city, the desert cities that appeared as I flew from Salt Lake to Palm Springs on my final leg of my trip, and finally the butterflies that were fluttering in my stomach in anxiousness about my arrival to a town I truly loved.
I have been to PS before, but this time seemed different. I had lost myself recently, so this trip was a voyage. This trip was a maiden voyage to try and find the essence of who I was. What I least expected, was finding that energy in another human being’s vitality for life and in a mere sunrise in the desert.
Picture it: an evening on a strip where gay bars line the street. Music is thumping from each and every bar, but different genres and styles flood your ears as you walk from one end of the “gay block” to the other. As I arrive at StreetBar in Palm Springs with friends of mine from Atlanta, I begin to look around and admire what I do every time that I arrive at this bar; the absolute tranquility that men of a certain age here experience in living their truth. As a young gay male, there are spaces that I feel out of place. There are spaces that I see my gay
elders exist in that do not feel welcoming to younger gay men, because I do not share their “experience” despite how much or little they know about me personally. As a young gay male, there is an association that because I am young, I will never and have never had the same experiences that some of my gay elders have had… however, what they don’t know is that I have been around the block. I grew up in the gay community. I was raised by drag performers and bartenders in Orlando who took me under their wing because they saw in me, what they saw in themselves when they were my age. They saw fear of what I was, but a hope that I could find my tribe. They saw a lack of confidence that eventually grew into a love for life that took me out of my deepest depression ever. They saw a gay boy from Orlando who didn’t have a path, but knew that he had a destiny to become something more than what everyone around him doubted he could be. In this bar, none of that mattered. The stares that happen when I walk into a bar of a certain age, didn’t happen. The concern for why is there a young gay boy in here, didn’t happen. Everyone was laughing and red in the face… from the liquor or laughter is debatable… but nonetheless it was present.
As I sit with my friends, a gentlemen walks in with what I assume to be (and later confirm is) his partner. This gentleman has a micro-satchel hanging from his neck with some of the most beautiful fabric draped across his body that I have seen in my entire life.

His partner, dressed in head to toe white linen, is standing closely behind him as they enter the bar. I remember asking my friends to “hold on for a moment” as I address their attire, and compliment them on what absolute freedom and love for life I see in their fashion choices for the evening. As I sit there talking to Eric (57) and Ron (80), I begin to truly realize what this place is for so many gay men: Mecca. It is a place where homosexual men feel they can live out their lives with absolute authenticity and love for life that only others who have experienced the same will understand. These two took me for a whirlwind of laughter, tears and smiles as they talked about how unapologetically free they felt in Palm Springs while also navigating living in Canada. The smile on my face was unrelenting, and they could tell that. “We need more people like you here”, said Eric. But at 29, what can I contribute to the environment here that hasn’t already been experienced by everyone around me? I mean, isn’t that what men of a certain age in the community have said to me my entire life in the community thus far?

Fast-Forward about a week to waking up in the sterile room of the hotel where I was staying the night, and realizing that I had not done much on this trip that was strictly for myself. Being on EST time, I woke up at 4 AM on my final day in Palm Springs and thought to myself… “What can I do to relish my time here the most, in my final hours before my flight?” Throw on a pair of shorts, toss on a shirt and rush to my car: I am going to Joshua Tree to witness the sunrise at 5:56 AM at the pinnacle of the mountaintop. I drive for an hour plus, with the navigation bringing me to another entry gate that I haven’t been to before and I realize at 5:50, I will not make it up the mountain to my destination. So, I stop the car. Something told me that I need to revel in this moment and enjoy it for what it’s worth… and I could not have been happier. I began to see the sunrise creep over the mountain peak and as it did, I began to feel smaller and smaller as each millimeter of the sun crawled up the mountain. I began to bask in the sun and continued my trek up to Key’s View where I saw the Coachella Valley in it’s entirety.
I was the only one up there. Wind gusts of 15+ MPH couldn’t keep me from seeing this view that I so longingly ventured up the mountain to experience. I sat at the top and it made me feel (if you could believe it) even smaller than I had at the bottom of the mountain, by the sun. To see the valley, to not pass a car for twenty five plus miles, and to be sitting at the top of the peak by myself… was humbling.
We are on this earth for a very limited time. We do not know when or how we will be taken from this space of co-habitation… but depending on what you believe in, we could be put in a space of solitary confinement… or we may join those dearly departed. But, why would you risk not living as authentically as possible while you physically can? To see Eric and Ron live their best life, and walk through that bar as the best dressed couple on the strip was eye opening, because I hope to live with that level of confidence one day. To be at the top of the mountain and take a moment for myself, is something everyone should do. We are all so driven by the rat race that pushes us to madness, we cannot focus in on who we are at our core. So, take a moment to live authentically… take a moment to get out and watch the sunrise. Be grateful for being here another day, because you never know when one day it will all be snatched from you.

Dear Lesbo
Why does every gay man insist on silly drugs and the Village Boys at Halloween!!
???????
Studio 54 Sinner
Dear Sinner
What’s the matter with Studio 54. The best times and parties come from that NY scene. As far as the drugs go leave those suckers behind blast the Village Boys, Dianna Ross and start making a live version of It’s Raining Men! This should and can be your best Halloween. Every bar in the Atl can put the disco balls out and start dancing till the Bats take you home.
Hope this helps and you dance the night away.
Lesbo
I want to thank Peach for all they do to keep Ask the Lesbo in the pages of Peach weekly. Keep these questions coming as I love answering them. I know I may not have the right answers but I promise I will always answer them. Stay safe this year no matter what or where you go.
Happy Halloween Lesbo

by Mikey Rox
Every horror movie spectator chooses one character as soon as the story starts to unfold that they hope will make it out alive – and for us gays, it’s usually the one who’s most physically appealing. We know full well they’ll be among the first to meet the business end of a machete, meat hook, sawedoff, pitchfork, [enter your weapon of choice here] about halfway through (after sufficient skin time on screen, of course), but that doesn’t deter us from pining for them any less. It’s what makes us, us.
Here, I’ve compiled some of the more memorable scary-movie standouts –some still alive and kickin’ by the end, some six feet under – to remind us all just how precious life is when there’s a killer on the loose, especially when you have a pretty face and rock-hard abs to die for.
It only took a decade for Hollywood to deliver the male equivalent of “The Craft,” and “The Covenant didn’t disappoint – so long as you judge this proverbial book by its cover and not its content. The movie’s main characters – all too-cool-for-school, pre-“Gossip Girl”-esque locker jocks (one of whom, Chace Crawford, would actually fulfill that destiny a year later) – spend so much time emerging from swimming pools and standing around dripping wet in their Speedos (between casting spells and killing people, of course) that you don’t even notice how bad the
film really is. Alas, the guys’ combined powers couldn’t save this dud from a four percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but their svelte, college-bound torsos still get 10s across the board.
Johnny Depp
Before Johnny Depp’s career took a sharp right toward cinema’s quintessential character actor, he played boy-next-door types who fancied crop-topped football jerseys and exhibited serious lack of judgment in his choice of mentally compromised companions. As a result, he was dragged through his own mattress by Freddy Krueger’s iconic claws before being splattered across his bedroom ceiling in an eruption of blood – leaving you scarred for life for the past 35 years.
We all know Jenna Jameson from a different genre of film – which, if we’re honest here, has horror elements all its own – but we have to give props to the “Queen of Porn” for making a legitimate attempt at going mainstream. It hasn’t always been a smooth ride for the most famous adult film star of all time, especially when you consider her role in 2008’s comically low-budget “Zombie Killers,” but she gets the last laugh: Jameson has amassed a net worth of $30 million, much of which was made by lying down on the job.
Mike Vogel

You knew Mike Vogel – he of incredible ass-dom (which explains why his career got the jump off as a Levi’s model) –wasn’t making it out of Leatherface’s clutches alive in 2003’s remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” On his return trip from Mexico to buy weed with his friends – a decision that only added insult to injury (drugs are bad, kids!) – the group was intercepted by one of horror’s ultimate villains by whom his leg was expeditiously chopped off before he was impaled on a meat hook to dry out like beef jerky.
Matt Bomer
This film, a prequel to 2003’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” – DOA among critics and fans alike – was the adorable Matt Bomer’s second appearance in a film (the first was “Flightplan” starring Jodie Foster). Despite succumbing to a chainsaw up the groin halfway through the flick, Bomer managed to grab screen time until the end – as Leatherface’s freshly skinned mask.
Selma Hayek
Queen vampire Santanico Pandemonium, played by Selma Hayek in director Robert Rodriguez’s bloodbath of a cult hit “From Dusk Till Dawn,” wreaks havoc in more places than the movie’s Titty Twister strip club – like that special place where lewd and lascivious intersect in every lesbian’s love box.
Jay Hernandez
Impossibly good-looking Jay Hernandez barely made it out alive in director Eli Roth’s torture-porn magnum opus “Hostel” – sans a few fingers –and serves just desserts to the Dutch Businessman hell-bent on keeping the Elite Hunting Club’s devious secrets safe. But despite surviving the hellish events of the first film, Hernandez reprises his role briefly in “Hostel 2” before losing his head – literally – in the first five minutes.
Ryan Phillippe
Phillippe, easy-on-the-eyes resident bad boy of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (which, along with its ’90s predecessor “Scream,” reinvigorated the slasher genre for a whole new generation), made homo boys in theaters across the country wiggle in their seats – less for his dramatic stabbing during the annual Croaker Pageant and more for locker-room scene where we were all treated to towel bulge and a generous helping of that terry-clothed ass.
Christian Bale
Listen, if you’re going to be hunted down by a naked chainsaw-wielding maniac, it might as well be a buff-asever Christian Bale. You know, right after he gets done satisfying your carnal proclivities and smackin’ you around a bit while he admires his own biceps. Best Saturday night you’ve ever had.
The Entire Cast of MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’
OK, so MTV’s “Teen Wolf” isn’t a movie, but what it lacks in tight feature-length characterization and storytelling it more than makes up for in tight torso-ed supernatural creatures masquerading as students. Tylers Posey and Hoechlin, Dylan O’Brien, and the Carver Twins all have proven themselves worthy of fanboy swoons, but at least in this article let’s all hail out-and-proud Colton Haynes, who became an object of our collective affection (for two seasons at least) as lacrosse team bully Jackson Whittemore – who can body check us any day.

Dear Peach,
This is going to be my first Halloween in the city and I dont know what to do! I feel like there is so much to do, so many different groups, so many cliques that I am not a part of and I dont know what to do in the meantime.

How can I get through these groups and make an impression to find some friends in the ATL?

Listen:
You do not have to make any group like you speficially to enjoy yourself in the city. You just have to be you and the right people will come into place with you. Honestly.
There is no need to try and force a friendship, because it is not that... It is forced. Why would you want to force something that means nothing at it's core? What benefit do you get from being fake? What do you get from the lack of energy to keep a friendship going on a two way street? You cannot upkeep a friendship strictly yourself If no one else is truly invested, then it isn't worth it
NOW: Go enjoy Halloween, and have the best time ever.

Well, it's Scorpio season... but you already know that. Let your imagination have free rein for the time being, before you really get to work. Keep a dream journal, see an unusual art exhibit or take a long walk somewhere you've never been before. In essence, you need to try things that are beyond your usual scope of experience so you can stimulate your creativity. You need plenty of stimulation to keep your interest from flagging, so seek it out.

it is time for you to listen to someone very close to you, Sag. Despite not wanting to... it is time. You may also get motivated to make some changes for the better. Before you figure out how to put these new ideas into action, make sure you really heard and absorbed the wisdom at the heart of the lesson.
This week you are hitting a creative stride, and you absolutely love it! You missed this energy. It's time to bust out your artistic toolkit -- whatever it is that lets you noodle around and explore all kinds of ideas. You're sure to feel inspired -- in fact, you may have so much fun playing around that you look for ways to incorporate play into your regular, everyday life.

Your personal life and your financial life are coming to a head this week. How can you make sure that you take care of both in such a way that will prepare you for the future? Your financial stability is important but you also need to make sure that your personal life and inter-personal realtionships are taken care of as well!
Time to pay close attention to yourself, Pisces! In fact, if necessary, you should turn off all communication devices and let your loved ones know that this day is all about solitude. That may just mean watching three of your favorite comedies in a row, or spending the day with a good book in a coffee shop. You may even feel the need to get on a roller coaster and howl during the big drops. Whatever it is, make sure you do it soon!

Let us focus on stability and consistency this week, Aries. Today's energy favors routine, regularity and consistency above all else. Even if you find yourself wistfully glancing at travel brochures, remember that virtue really is its own reward. You've got plenty of time for thrills -- on your terms, that is -- once you make sure to take care of everything on your to-do list.

Do you want to change the world, or do you want to change your life?

Rather than worrying about bring it all together right away, make sure you take some time to mull it over. Let your mind roam free and explore all the possibilities, rather than trying to set boundaries and solidify plans right now. Try to write it all down as soon as possible!
You're feeling it this week, Gemini. Your mental energy is trying to tell you that there's some some heavy emotional mud to slog through relating to work and success. Now is certainly the time to address those old feelings before making any sudden moves. When you do make your move, you want to follow it through all the way to the end, so don't put any pressure on yourself to come to a decision quite yet.

You want to move mountains right now, so focus and do it. Direct your focus and willpower toward a project you've been dying to initiate, or maybe some other area of your life you've been wanting to change. Anything can happen when you've got that special spark, you're lighting up the room right now.

You are starting to feel the love for people around you but you need to be weary and cautious. If you're not careful, you could seriously hurt yourself, especially if this person turns out to be a bit shallower than you had thought. Reserve judgment and action until you know them better.

You're feeling distant from those around you... now... If you want to remedy that, take some time dedicated to social business so you can call friends, family members and sweeties that you've been promising to eventually. If you follow through with your all that, your social life should receive just the shot in the arm that it needs.
You are about to make some big decisions and you need to be as rational as possible. If someone is pressing you, just tell them that you need to wait until you're ready, and that it might be a while. Wait until this influence passes, and then you should be able to view it all with a more detached perspective.
