In this issue, we not only guide to the many parties and events happening in Piedmont and all over the city (we picked many, many favorites where we will be celebrating!), but the issue also discusses how Pride is still political and why it is more important now than ever to celebrate Pride. One of the parties – Sunday Service at Sister Louisa’s – will also be the last after 14 years of celebrating queer joy. We spoke to Vicki Powell, who heads up the Deep South collective, about the longest-running queer Sunday party in Atlanta. Going beyond Pride, we spoke to President and CEO of Status: Home (formerly Jerusalem House), Maryum Philips about their resurgence of their popular Halloween Party, which is returning after a longer hiatus.
