Hunt & Harbor Makes a National ...........Splash Edited by Mikkel Hyldebrandt Photos courtesy of Hunt & Harbor Photographers: Kevin Le, Ben Sahagun

Most of what I design now lives in that a 25-plus-year career in healthcare staffing, the combined space, which is much closer to how I brand has now landed one very visible milestone: actually am as a person.” Hunt & Harbor was selected as the official and exclusive swimwear partner for Mister USA 2026. The journey to building that aesthetic began in East Tennessee, where Newport grew up as one For Newport, the of five siblings. He went on to establish a long opportunity was as corporate career in healthcare staffing, eventually unexpected as it becoming an executive vice president. Hunt & was exciting. “The Harbor emerged later, beginning roughly a year first thing I did after and a half ago as an Etsy shop and growing into hanging up? The collection, showcased during Mister USA Finals Week in Las Vegas, features two colorways—a blackand-gold design and a patriotic red, white and blue—and three silhouettes: board short, square cut, and lifeguard brief. Coordinating tanks, shirts and additional Mister USA merchandise rounded out the collection. The first swimwear showcase took place August 21 at Hard Rock Live, with the Mister USA finals following on August 23 at Area15. And while the Vegas stage may have been Hunt & Harbor’s biggest spotlight yet, the brand itself is about considerably more than swimwear. Its guiding philosophy, “Southern Roots. Coastal Soul.,” reflects Newport’s own background and the aesthetic he has developed for the brand:

Your Future Self Needs Three Things By Dr. Zachary LaVigne, Any Spine Chiropractic & Massage Studio Most people do not need a punishing new workout plan. They need a movement life they can still recognize, enjoy, and keep doing ten years from now. That matters because your body is not training for a beach vacation or a before-and-after photo. It is training for the long game: getting up from the floor without negotiating with your knees, carrying groceries, catching yourself when you trip, hauling luggage through Hartsfield-Jackson, and remaining physically independent as the candles multiply on the birthday cake. A well-rounded movement life has three basic ingredients: resistance training, cardio, and mobility work. Think of them as the body’s strength, engine, and hinges. Strength: Keep Your Muscle Resistance training means asking your muscles to work against a load. That load can be dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, a machine at the gym, a backpack full of books, or your own bodyweight. Squats, lunges, push-ups, rows, chin-ups, carries, and step-ups all count. So does getting up from a chair repeatedly, if that is where you are starting. Muscle is not just decoration. It helps you climb stairs, protect joints, manage everyday tasks, and respond when life gets unexpectedly physical. Resistance and weight-bearing activity also place useful stress on bone, which helps support bone density over time. That is especially important as we age, because muscle mass, strength, and bone density do not maintain themselves out of politeness. Adults are advised to include musclestrengthening activity at least two days per week, working the major muscle groups. You do not have to become a person who says “leg day” with a straight face. Two or three short sessions a week can be a meaningful place to begin. Cardio: Build the Engine Cardio is any activity that raises your heart rate for a sustained stretch. Brisk walking is the overlooked champion here. So are cycling, dancing, swimming, hiking, jogging, rowing, pickleball, tennis, taking a group fitness class, or enthusiastically cleaning your house to Beyoncé. Your heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain all benefit from regular aerobic work. The general public-health target is at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week, which can look like five 30-minute brisk walks. It does not have to happen in a single heroic burst. For many Atlantans, the most realistic cardio program is simple: walk more, walk with purpose,
and make it social when possible. Walk the BeltLine with a friend. Park farther from the door. Take the dog on the route that makes both of you slightly annoyed. A movement habit is easier to repeat when it comes with sunlight, conversation, music, or a coffee at the end. Stretch: Maintain the Hinges Stretching will not replace strength training or cardio, but it helps preserve the flexibility that makes daily movement feel less like operating a rusty gate. Federal guidelines note that stretching can improve flexibility and make activities requiring a greater range of motion easier. Try calf stretches while brushing your teeth, hipflexor stretches after sitting, gentle hamstring work after a walk, shoulder mobility between computer tasks, or a few minutes on the floor while watching television. Add balance practice, too: stand on one leg while waiting for the microwave, walk heel-totoe down the hallway, or use controlled step-ups. For older adults, recommended activity includes balance training alongside aerobic and strength work. The Rule That Actually Works Choose forms of movement you genuinely like, or at least dislike the least. The “perfect” program you abandon in eight weeks is not better than the decent one you repeat for years. Maybe you love lifting heavy. Maybe you would rather dance, hike, garden, swim, take Pilates, or walk every neighborhood in Atlanta one coffee shop at a time. Great. Build around that. Your body does not care whether your movement came from a boutique studio, a barbell, or a long walk with someone you love. It notices the repetition. The goal is not a quick two-month burst that ends with no results. The goal is to become someone whose life naturally includes strength, stamina, mobility, and enough balance to keep saying yes to the world.
