Now, due to incredible generosity of donors like you, we are able to upgrade our equipment and facilities to serve our growing community. Many of our patients face significant financial challenges. The Cancer Center is dedicated to helping all patients in our community get equitable access to excellent cancer care and supporting them through their treatment journey. Thanks to Philanthropy, Big Improvements are Coming Soon Thanks to philanthropic support, the United General cancer care team will soon have a brand new linear accelerator to use with patients needing radiation therapy. The TrueBeam™ Linear Accelerator combines imaging, beam delivery and sophisticated motion management to accurately and precisely target tumors while sparing surrounding normal tissue. The machine is also very fast, reducing most treatment times. Other improvements will include new carpet, updated restrooms, paint and artwork.

These exciting updates are all part of the “Keeping Cancer Care Close to Home” capital campaign to ensure that Peacehealth United General patients continue to have access to the very best cancer care available, without traveling far from home. Incredibly generous leadership gifts have been received from The MJ Murdock Charitable Trust, United General Auxiliary and Sedro-Woolley Rotary Club. Program Highlights PeaceHealth United General Cancer Center has partnered with the St. Joseph Cancer Center and now has onsite medical and radiation oncologists who work at both facilities. This allows United General Cancer Center to provide comprehensive cancer care so our patients can receive care close to home.

In addition to our complete medical and radiation oncology services, United General is now offering telehealth genetic counseling services and has invested in advanced therapeutics such as RapidArc radiotherapy.

I have had a long journey with cancer, all in the Sedro-Woolley cancer care center.

“

As a registered nurse at PeaceHealth Oncology – Sedro-Woolley, I feel that it is an honor to be a part of each and every patient’s cancer journey.

In 2013 I was diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer. I had a radical mastectomy and nodes removed. I was given the best care for that – radiation and chemotherapy. Unfortunately in 2017 the cancer came back, and it has mutated a couple of times. The United General doctors were up on the type of treatment to give me and constantly doing research, which keeps me positive.

Navigating through a cancer diagnosis can be an extremely scary experience for a patient and their loved ones. Our clinic relies on the generous support of United General donors to enhance the services that we provide our patients during the most vulnerable times of their lives.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful nurses in oncology, who are like family to me. Whenever I have a problem they are right there to help me.

This makes me feel loved and cared for. I don’t feel like just a number. This keeps me fighting to keep on top of things. The love and respect at this cancer center is unbelievable. Whatever they need, please see that they get it!

As a member of the community in which I work, I feel it is important that my family and friends have access to the high-quality, personalized and compassionate care that is close to home at PeaceHealth Oncology.
