Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is an important part of healing for patients with cardiac and pulmonary concerns. Our excellent program includes supervised physical activity, lifestyle education and support.

Graduates of the program may continue developing the healthy habits they’ve learned by participating in our Supervised Excercise Program, but often insurance won’t cover it. To date, generous donors including The Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation have provided scholarships to more than 100 patients through our Supervised Exercise Program Scholarship Endowment Fund.

Thank you, donors, for empowering patients to defend against repeat cardiopulmonary events and move confidently down the path to full and complete recovery.

Philanthropy puts defibrillators in Eugene Police Squad Cars

Recently local media outlets shared the story of how Eugene Police, Eugene Springfield Fire, Eugene Police Foundation and PeaceHealth came together to put life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in 48 Eugene Police patrol cars.

Generous donors like you enabled PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation to contribute $60,000 toward the purchase of the AED’s. Additional funding was provided through the Eugene Police Foundation.

Police, who are trained in CPR, are often the first on scene for a cardiac arrest. As of this writing, officers have already used the new units twice to save lives.

“Time is critical,” says Rick Padgett, MD, cardiologist and Executive Director of the Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute. “For each minute that goes by without CPR and shock from a defibrillator, chances of survival drop by 10%.”

We are immensely grateful for your support! Your contributions will save lives and positively impact the health of our community for many years to come.
