AN EVENING WITH GLADYS KNIGHT

“Every Beat of My Heart,” “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” and “Midnight Train to Georgia” are just a few of the memorable hits by the seven-time Grammy® Award winning Empress of Soul. Knight’s voice found a much-deserved spotlight with the creation of a family R&B/soul group called The Pips. The group debuted their first album in 1960, with Knight singing lead. They went on to earn a spot in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame, and recorded some of the most memorable songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

EN GARDE ARTS: BASETRACK LIVE

“Gritty, emotional, engaging, and, most of all, hopeful” (The Daily Texan). Named one of the top 10 performances in 2014 by The New York Times, BASETRACK LIVE is an extraordinary collaboration between award-winning theater company En Garde Arts and corpsmen from the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines out of the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (Marine 1/8). BASETRACK LIVE powerfully portrays the impact of war on veterans and their families and shows a complicated and sensitive portrayal of how war affects us all.

EVANESCENCE SPECIAL GUEST VERIDIA NOVEMBER 16

Led by Amy Lee’s operatic, passionate vocals, Evanescence has sold close to 25 million albums since its 2003 debut, Fallen. The project’s premiere single, “Bring Me To Life,” snagged the band a Grammy® for best hard rock performance. Other massive hits followed and established Evanescence as worldwide tour headliners.

ST. PAUL & THE BROKEN BONES DECEMBER 13

Led by dynamic front man Paul Janeway, the Birmingham, Alabama-based St. Paul and the Broken Bones is a heart-pounding infusion of old school R&B, soul, funk and rock. Inspiring, intelligent, thoughtful, and socially relevant, they are a soul band with a conscience.

Known as “the people’s diva,” soprano Renée Fleming captivates audiences with her sumptuous voice, consummate artistry and compelling stage presence.

In 2013, she was awarded the National Medal of Arts, America’s highest honor for an individual artist, by the President at a White House ceremony. She even brought her voice to a vast new audience in 2014 as the first classical artist to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

ZZ TOP

FEBRUARY 19 ZZ Top’s music is always instantly recognizable, eminently powerful, profoundly soulful, and 100% Texas American in derivation. Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact, and in 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

They’re real and they’re surreal and they’re ZZ Top.

TAJ EXPRESS: THE BOLLYWOOD MUSICAL REVUE

LANG LANG

FEBRUARY 27 Heralded as “the world’s ambassador of the keyboard” by The New Yorker magazine, the star pianist Lang Lang was selected as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time magazine, citing him as a symbol of the youth of China and its future. The Today Show coined the term “Lang Lang Effect” to describe the 40 million Chinese children inspired by his legacy to study an instrument. And his open-hearted, emotive playing on the grandest of stages – such as consecutive performances on the 56th and 57th Grammy® Awards and the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics – have earned him the title “hottest artist on the classical planet” from The New York Times.
