Welcome! Welcome to the latest edition of your local newsletter for Peabody Hill.

A note from your Neighbourhood Manager As your Neighbourhood Manager, I want to take this opportunity to share some of the work currently taking place across the estate and the progress being made on issues that matter to you. One of our key priorities is improving parking access across the estate. We know how important safe and reliable access is for residents, visitors and service providers, and we are continuing to explore solutions that will help improve the experience for everyone. We are also working closely with the Peabody Communities team to review the activities currently taking place at the Community Centre. We're looking at what's working well, where there are opportunities to improve, and how we can create a programme that better reflects the interests and needs of local residents. I’ll feedback on both of these issues in our next edition. As always, thank you for your feedback, support and involvement in our community.

A Spooktacular celebration!

You told us, we did... Residents have told us that dog mess around the estate is becoming a concern, and we know how frustrating this can be for everyone who lives here. In response to this Kerry-Ann has written to all residents to remind dog owners of their responsibilities. If you own a dog and exercise it on or around the estate, you must clean up after your pet and dispose of any waste responsibly.

Get ready for some frightful fun this Halloween! We're delighted to invite residents and their families to our annual Halloween event at the Rosendale Community Centre. Whether you're planning to dress up as a wicked witch, a friendly ghost, a monster, or something completely unexpected, everyone is welcome to join the celebrations. It's a great chance to meet neighbours, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and make some magical Halloween memories together. Children and adults alike are invited to come along and take part in the fun, so dust off your costumes and prepare for an evening of spooky surprises and community spirit. We look forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces and creative costumes on the night. No tricks, just treats! Saturday 31 October, 5pm Rosendale Community Centre All residents and children are welcome.

While most dog owners already do the right thing, even a small E amount of dog mess can affect the appearance of our shared spaces and make them unpleasant for others to use. To help keep the estate clean, Kerry-Ann has also asked the Estate Services team to be extra vigilant and remove any mess that is left behind as quickly as possible. However, the responsibility for cleaning up after a dog remains with the owner. Thank you to everyone who raised this issue and to residents who help keep our estate clean, safe and enjoyable for all.

Take some time for yourself Mums and carers are invited to join ASD Fitness Mums, an inclusive fitness programme designed for SEND mothers and women in the local community. Sessions include yoga, Pilates, Zumba and LBT, helping participants improve wellbeing and connect with others. The programme runs on Fridays from October and is held 10.30am to 12pm at Peabody Cottage. A suggested donation of £3 per session applies.

Damp & Mould: We’re here to help We know damp, mould and condensation can be uncomfortable and affect your wellbeing. If you've noticed any signs, please report them as soon as possible so we can investigate and take action. Damp and mould can be caused by leaks, poor ventilation, condensation or other building issues. Our priority is to identify the cause and carry out any repairs we're responsible for. We do not blame residents and will work with you to find a long-term solution. Report issues through My Peabody or by calling 0300 123 3456. We'll visit within 14 days, or within 24 hours in an emergency, to assess the problem, make your home safe and arrange any further repairs needed.

We continue to monitor cases for up to a year after works are completed to help ensure problems don't return. If you're unsure whether something needs reporting, please get in touch. Your reports help us support residents and identify wider issues. Spotted damp or mould in your home? Tell us. Report damp or mould

Check your heating Before the cold weather arrives, take a few minutes to check that your boiler and heating are working properly. Simply turn on your heating and hot water and make sure everything fires up as expected. Testing your system early can help identify any issues before temperatures drop and demand for repairs increases. If there is a problem, you'll have more time to arrange a repair and avoid long waits during the busiest time of year. Looking after your wellbeing Join us at the Community Centre on 29 October, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, for our next Wellbeing Hub.

The Wellbeing Hub brings together Peabody colleagues and local support organisations, giving residents the chance to access free, confidential advice and practical support in a friendly and relaxed setting.

A quick check now could make all the difference later. No one wants to start winter in a cold home without heating or hot water. By acting now, you can stay one step ahead and make sure your home is warm, comfortable and ready for the colder months. Keeping areas clear

Please ensure that all communal landings and corridors are always kept clear of personal belongings. Keeping these areas free from obstructions helps maintain a safe environment for everyone, supports emergency access, and ensures our blocks remain clean and tidy.

Whether you're looking for information about local services, support with your health and wellbeing, help managing everyday challenges, or simply want to find out what's available in your community, there will be plenty of people on hand to help. You don't need to be facing a crisis to attend, and no concern is too small. The Wellbeing Hub is an opportunity to ask questions, have a chat, and explore the support that could make a positive difference to you or your household. We'd love to see you there. Drop in and find out what's available.
