Parkside - October 2024 Parkside PRC onto a winner!

Parkside residents have reason to celebrate following an award win at the recent Peabody Resident Engagement Conference.

The Parkside Resident Collective (PRC) won the Youth Spotlight award at the conference, which was held to celebrate the contributions of our engaged residents who give up their time to help Peabody be a better organisation, and also make a huge contribution to their neighbourhoods.

In their entry, the PRC said: “We are a new community collective trying to help our community by representing residents in day to day problems or successes with Peabody. Our Tenants & Residents Association tries to bring the Community together and serves as a pivotal point to help residents solve their problems.

“We want to form better communication with the whole community and want to up a youth arm of the PRC.”

If you’d like to know more about the PRC, they hold a regular meeting in the main hall of the community centre. These are held every third Wednesday of the month from 7pm-8.30pm.

Celebrating Black History with

Come and join us for good vibes, learning, and connecting as a community

On Tuesday 29 October (5 30 - 9 00pm), residents are invited to join us at the Community Centre for a free celebration of Black History Month.

Pristine Eats will be providing a delicious edible backdrop to an evening of live music, spoken word artistry and performances from local talent.

‘Black History Man’, publisher, educator and author Robin Walker will also be at the event, speaking to guests about the contribution that Caribbean people and culture have made to UK society He’ll also be talking about the Windrush generation, and its longstanding and still growing impact

We recently wrote to residents to let them know that the way we managed repairs inside their homes was changing. We’ve listened to feedback and have worked with residents to create a better, more reliable local repairs service

At Parkside, most of the repairs inside your homes are done under a contract system referred to as MPT This means that when we log repairs, we automatically allocate them to the most appropriate, and most quickly available contractor in the area.

This isn’t going to be changing, but we think our new local means that we can be more responsive and adaptable to your needs. Our contractors will work closely with our local team to understand the needs of your household and neighbourhood.

Both routine and emergency repairs can be reported as normal through My Peabody My Peabody allows you to manage everything about your home in one place. You can access or register for My Peabody at bit.ly/MyPBPortal. You can also call us on 0300 123 3456

The UK is a nation of animal lovers, and we’re just the same That said, we do want to remind everyone that although dogs are welcome at Parkside, we do expect residents to be responsible dog owners.

Dogs should be kept under control and supervised at all times, and not cause a nuisance to other households. Please remember that this can cover excess noise, fouling, and making sure your dog doesn’t get too close people who may not be so much of a dog lover as you

Dogs should be kept on a lead in communal areas and are not allowed at all in childrens’ play areas. They should also under control when our colleagues or contractors come to your home.

And please, make sure that any mess your dog does leave in common areas is removed immediately!

Parking at Parkside

As residents will know, Parkside has a very limited amount of parking spaces available. Parking priority is given to residents who have purchased a parking space and disabled residents who have a blue badge.

In areas where parking enforcement has been implemented, residents authorised to park have been provided with a PCM parking permit.

Residents are reminded if they do not have an assigned bay or PCM permit they are not permitted to park at Parkside.
