Welcome! Welcome to the first edition of your local newsletter. You’ve asked us to bring you relevant community news about the local area, and we hope you’ll enjoy this and find it useful.

A note from your Neighbourhood Manager Hi! I’m Kazim Bishop, the Neighbourhood Manager for the Nag’s Head Estate. This autumn marks an exciting period. Alongside ongoing estate improvement projects, we are launching a new research project focused on ventilation, damp and mould. Residents will have opportunities to shape future improvements, participate in workshops and help develop solutions that work for the community.

Happy Diwali!

Over the past year, residents have helped shape a range of discussions about the future of Nag's Head Estate. Through events, workshops, surveys and everyday conversations, we have heard about the issues that matter most to residents and the improvements people would like to see.

We would like to wish all our residents who are celebrating a very happy Diwali.

Both myself and Maia are looking forward to continuing to work with you to build on the great community we have here in E2.

From everyone at Peabody, Happy Diwali and best wishes for the year ahead.

May this Festival of Lights bring joy, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones. We hope your celebrations are filled with warmth, togetherness and special moments with family and friends.

You told us, we acted We’ve been listening to your feedback and focusing on the issues that matter most to residents. Through conversations, surveys and local engagement, several key themes have emerged: tackling damp and mould, improving green spaces, creating safer and more welcoming neighbourhoods, improving communication, and better management of bin areas. In response, we’re taking action across each of these priorities. To help address damp and mould, we’re progressing a ventilation improvement project designed to improve airflow and create healthier homes. We’re also developing proposals for new bin stores to help keep communal areas cleaner, tidier and easier to use. Many residents told us they want more opportunities to shape local decisions. To support this, we’re creating workshops and working groups where residents can share ideas, influence plans and help us improve services. We’ve also heard how important attractive outdoor spaces are to the community. That’s why we’re supporting community gardening opportunities and investing in landscape improvements to make green areas more enjoyable for everyone. These projects are part of our ongoing commitment to working with residents to make meaningful improvements. Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback so far. Your views are helping to shape future plans, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as this work progresses.

Growing together: Improvements across the estate Work is continuing on a range of improvement projects across the estate, with resident feedback helping to shape plans every step of the way. Following earlier consultation with residents, designs have now been developed for new and improved bin stores. We're currently working through the necessary procurement and compliance processes before installation can begin, and we'll keep residents updated as the project progresses. Alongside this, we're continuing to explore opportunities to enhance community facilities, improve resident storage, upgrade landscape areas and make communal spaces more welcoming and practical for everyone. The community garden at the Sundial Centre is also continuing to thrive. The garden brings residents together to plant, maintain and harvest a variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers, creating opportunities to connect with neighbours while enjoying shared green space. Resident involvement remains at the heart of these projects, helping to ensure improvements reflect what matters most to the community. Thank you to everyone who has shared their views and contributed their ideas so far. Together, we're helping to create a greener, more welcoming estate for all.

Have your say on future improvements We’d love you to join us at a series of workshops and drop-in sessions taking place at the Sundial Centre from 5pm to 7pm. These sessions are a chance to work with us and help shape future improvements across the estate, including landscaping, bin stores, ventilation and the launderette. We’ll also be working alongside UCL on an exciting ventilation project, and residents will have the opportunity to share their views and help inform the work. Whether you have ideas to contribute, questions to ask, or simply want to find out more, your feedback is important and can help influence decisions about the estate.

Upcoming sessions include: 4 November: Resident Drop-In 26 November: Ventilation Workshop 10 December: Estate Management Plan Workshop Refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there. We also hold a monthly resident drop-in session for Repairs, Investment works and Neighbourhoods 3pm - 5pm before the Co-Design sessions.

Let’s talk about ventilation This autumn, an exciting new ventilation research project will begin on Nag’s Head Estate, bringing residents, Peabody and specialist partners together to better understand how homes perform and identify ways to reduce damp and mould issues. Over the coming months, a range of activities will take place, including resident surveys, home visits, discussions, community events and co-design workshops. Temperature and humidity levels will also be monitored in participating homes, helping to build a clearer picture of the factors that can contribute to damp and mould. A key part of the project is resident involvement. We know that the people who live here have valuable insight into the challenges they experience every day. Residents will have opportunities to share their experiences, discuss what works well and contribute ideas for potential improvements through workshops and other engagement activities. The project will also test and evaluate possible solutions, helping us better understand which approaches are most effective in real homes and communities. The findings will play an important role in shaping decisions about ventilation improvements and wider investment. By working together, we can develop residentfocused solutions that help create healthier, more comfortable homes for everyone.
