Welcome On behalf of the Uppin the Ante group I would like to welcome you to our 10th Annual Female sale. The Uppin the Ante sale is the longest standing female sale in Ontario. This is a very elite group of breeders who breed top end females and use the latest and greatest genetics available. The opportunities are endless in this sale. There are fancy heifer calves that will make top show prospects next year at the CCYA in Barrie, ON. Or if you are looking for a young female or cow to start a herd around, we have it all. The group is offering you a wide range of quality females—you can buy Full French, polled and red females here, all out of top end sires.

When we selected the females this year we asked the group to dig deeper than they have ever dug and they have done just that! I believe this is one of our best ever offerings we have had to sell. As always please come Friday and look through the cattle and enjoy social hour with us on Friday evening. Cattle will be available for your viewing on Saturday morning and we invite you to enjoy a hot lunch provided on behalf of the Uppin the Ante group.

New this year, in light of our 10th anniversary, we are selling tickets for a sale credit. First prize is $6,000 sale credit and second prize is $4,000 sale credit. Please contact any of the consignors to purchase tickets.

This tan cow came to us from the Wilgenbusch herd. She is a thick, moderate framed female.

She is very quiet, easy doing and an amazing producer, with a phenomenal udder. She is bred to our herd sire JWX Fifty Shades for a January 1st calf. ‘Shady” sired the second high-selling bull in Canada in spring 2016 for Wilgenbusch Charolais. This pair is bound to produce a winning combination. We really did not want to part with this cow but she was the top pick from the selection committee. So make sure you don’t miss out on adding her to your purebred herd!

Medonte Call Me Crazy 12C is another smooth polled Benelli daughter and out of a Freedom cow that came out of the Paget herd. 12C is deep sided and thick made. She looks to be dropping a gorgeous udder and if it’s anything like her mother’s, it will stand the test of time. 12C sells bred to XAL Custom Made 1C. He was our top 2015 bull calf, showed extremely well at Agribition, and was admired by many in the barns. He sold out of the stall to Jordan Moore & Kelly Brimmer while in Regina. We had the opportunity to use Custom Made this spring before shipping him west, so he bred our entire yearling heifer pen. We can hardly wait to see the results next spring.

Medonte Chiffon 13C is a scurred daughter of Benelli and out of a Circle Cee bred female. We believe 13C is one of the best Benelli daughters in our heifer pen. She is structurally sound and eye appealing, with good feet and legs. Like the other Benelli’s she looks to be dropping a nice udder so far. Medonte Done That 4D is an eye appealing, smooth polled daughter of Benelli and out of a great Invincible daughter. The 7W cow has a daughter working in the Steppler Charolais herd and another sold to Frank Degurse in the 2014 UTA sale. She has also produced a walking bull for Kyle Stevenson that is doing a tremendous job. I’ve always stated that the Invincible daughters seem to continually outproduce themselves time and time again. Medonte Dew Drop 10D is a smooth polled daughter of Benelli and out of our Xpectation 15X cow. This is our second crop of Benelli’s to hit the ground and they are proving to be very functional type cattle, with excellent feet and legs.

The 15X cow continues to prove her worth. She has produced a Revelation daughter working in the Elder Charolais herd and a Firewater daughter sold to Fourth Lane Farms in the 2015 UTA sale. 10D is deep sided, strong hipped, and very eye appealing.

There’s no doubt in our minds that she’ll win some ribbons in the show ring and then, as a cow, put lots of money in the pockets of her new owner.

We think so highly of her that she’ll be in our 2016 show string and will be entered in the National.
