Saunders Charolais
12th Annual Bull Sale
Saturday, April 1, 2017 2:00 pm Keady Livestock Market Keady, ON Destiny Simmental Bull Sale Edition 7
Welcome to our 12th Annual Bull Sale.
We still sell cattle by the pound, more pounds return more dollars. This was never more evident than during this past year’s fall calf run. The beef market took a wild downward swing after having historic highs for a couple years. If you did not have a good heavy calf to sell this past fall there was little or no money to be made. Charolais bulls will add pounds to your calf crop along with calving ease and vigor. The stigma associated with ‘grey or silver’ calves is disappearing, the Charolais/Angus cross calf is proving to be one of the best feeding animals going. Charolais is truly a breed that will work on any breed of cow and be identifiable. We again this year are offering a very strong set of bulls in our sale, including big performance bulls and heifer safe bulls. We are again happy to be working with Blue Mountains Charolais who are consigning some long yearlings that will handle a few extra cows this breeding season. Vidoes of the bulls are available on our facebook page and our catalogue will be online at charolaisbanner.com. The bulls are available for viewing any time at the farm as well as March 11th which is our annual open house. If you have any questions contact Darrell or Brent. Hope to see you on April 1st at Keady.

Futures’ One Simmental Bull Sale ~ Edition 7 ~
We would first like to thank Saunders Charolais for a seventh invitation to join their well established sale. The Red & Black Simmental bulls being offered are as strong as last year. We are proud to be associated with this sale in the heart of Ontario’s Cattle Country. The bulls offered have been rigorously selected for docility, scrotal, maternal values and terminal traits to maximize your bottom line and efficiency. We are witnessing tremendous demand for Simmental Bulls in North America to provide calving ease and more pounds at weaning. The trend has started for Simmental Bulls. The bulls are developed together on a grain ration with corn silage and dry hay and are presented in their working clothes. The bulls will be semen tested and guaranteed as per the Simmental Association guidelines. We look forward to answering any questions you have regarding the offering either before hand or in Keady. If you cannot make it, please feel comfortable to ontact myself, the Buschbeck’s or Saunders’ to assist you. We would like to welcome Sam & Andreas Buschbeck as bull consultants to the sale this year for Destiny Simmentals. Please contact them with any questions you may have, Andreas (519-270-3258) & Sam (519-375-6443. We can be available most days to show the bulls in the home yard prior to the sale. Call my cell 519-379-7565 to arrange a time to view the bulls and see their dams.

This is the third bull in this sale from our walking herd sire and out of the Ms Deck family that is always consistent with 80 -90 lb birth weights. A good honest bull needing some cows to prove his value by producing live calves that put on pounds.

This is the fancy bull of the group and had to put on pounds to compete as he was born in Feb against all the rest born in Jan. Extra length and presence will make this bull easy to find sale day. His dam is a cow that could arguably be the best cow on the farm.

This bull arrived on a truck last Feb beside his 2 year old dam from Alberta. Total outcross and western genetics. A bull I admire for his mass, flexible joints and disposition. This one should be on top of the list of most progressive bull buyers.
