elcome to the 3rd Annual Prairie Distinction Bull Sale. This sale has really established itself as a source for some good quality two year old and yearling bulls. The seven young, progressive breeders from across Manitoba have again consigned a solid set of bulls with something for everyone. Seedstock producers, to the most discriminating commercial producers, will find something here. There are bulls that would work in a heifer pen, to some big-time performance animals, including red factor and whites. There is also a good selection of two year old bulls that fill these categories too. These aren’t leftovers but come from breeders who are developing them to last and are raising them to sell as twos.

C2 Charolais • lots 1-20 Welcome to the 2017 Prairie Distinction Bull Sale. This year, we are offering 19 strong yearlings and a complete powerhouse two year old. The bulls are fed a high roughage TMR developed by Landmark Feeds. These bulls are fed gently to maximize longevity and for optimum development.

Armageddon sons are featured again to add hair and rib shape along with excellent calving ease. Several sons last year went into heifer pens with great success. As an added bonus, his daughters are milking now and are simply stunning!

Double Down was added for his fault free structure and natural growth. These are the

only Double Down's available in Manitoba. Bauer was our high selling bull in 2015 to Temple Farms. He's a big time power bull passing on tremendous length and muscle shape. A-Plus is a bull we retained to add more influence from our original flush cow, LECA 71L. Her lineage shows up in many of the sale bulls.

Jeff and Jackie Cavers Capone is a big time power bull. We used Capone in 2016, and his calves look fantastic. All having been born unassisted and showing excellent vigour at birth. After much deliberation, we decided to sell Capone due to the already high influence his dam and granddam have in our herd. His dam Nexus 18U is what a Charolais cow should be. October 31, 2016 weight: 2040 Selling 3/4 interest and full possession, retaining a 1/4 semen interest.

Cattle laC Charolais • lots 21–28 35D is the only 67B calf, as he was lost early in the breeding season. What is lacked in quantity, this guy really makes up for in quality. Bud Heavy is a very stylish bull, is extra long, and carries his quarter all the way down.

He’s got a small head, smooth shoulders, and a low birth weight, so he should calf both cows and heifers with the same result; calves that will be born, get up, suck and never look back.

Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made.

Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.

Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

Exception Guarantee: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of all guarantees and representations.

Insurance: Insurance will be available sale day.

Pictures: By attending the sale you are granting permission for your picture to be used for promotional and advertising purposes relating to the sale.
