elcome to the 5th Annual No Borders sale. It doesn’t seem that long ago we decided to provide the opportunity for breeders to showcase their programs in this sale. We feel it is important for breeders, whether you are buying your first purebred female or have been in the business forever, to get together and exchange ideas and genetics. We want to set this stage and welcome everyone to come the night before the sale and join in a mixer at the Jay’s Inn and Suites hotel. Book your room early and if you have trouble getting one, ask for one under the No Borders block or contact us and we will help you get one booked. There are 16 enthusiastic breeders in this fun event for both the consignors and buyers. There truly is something for everyone from white, to red factor to Full French. Exciting herdsire prospect, pick of the heifer pens and show prospect heifer calves some right out of the show strings, proven brood matrons and some great bred heifers, all with genetics that will add value to any program. This fall the value of a Charolais bull in the commercial crossbreeding program is definitely being seen. Pounds combined with the identifiable Charcross look are topping every market across the country. The commercial producers are realizing the Charolais advantage and I see only good things ahead for the Charolais bull market. Everyone is welcome to come and see this offering and meet breeders from across the country. You are welcome to view the sale cattle the day before when they move into the auction market or the morning of the sale. If we can be of any assistance before the sale to facilitate your purchasing, please don’t hesitate to contact us, any of the consignors or sale staff. Always in the best interest of Charolais, Helge & Candace By

Wow! What a herdsire prospect! Wow! What a herdsire prospect! This is the most powerful bull calf we have ever produced. Starting out with a moderate 104 lb birth weight, out of a mature cow, he then exploded to weigh over 1250 lb at 8 months of age. Shown this summer he was Grand Champion bull at the Harding Fair and Grand Champion Bull at Ag-Ex where he weighed in at 1,332 lbs. He has tremendous length and muscle shape with a big solid foot at the base. His dam is a no-miss female, also having produced the Miss Dateline 114Y Fun Bus Syndicate cow that did so well on the show road a few years ago and is out producing herself now as well. We named the bull calf in honour of Ken Fisher who we bought the sire from and who passed away this summer. What-A-Boy is a 5/8 French bull that consistently sires the performance and meat we all want in the industry. If you are serious about performance you need to seriously look at Fisher. Selling 3/4 interest and Full Possesion. Dam: JMB MS Oakridge 849U

She’s a very sharp fronted, deep bodied female backed by generations of maternal strength. Her dam (953W) has been a solid producer here raising 7 calves in the past 6 years. Her granddam (3K) produced until she was 14 and was a Gold Star Dam of Distinction. Herd bull producer!

Bred April 29 to Pleasantdawn Captain 675C. This girl goes back to my Arrow cow family, 15 calves in 17 years, all unassisted, very fertile cow family. Being out of Chisum offers a great cross of awesome cow families. It’s my pleasure to offer females like these – length, rib, hair, milk and calving ease. Bred to Pleasantdawn Captain a Ledger son we kept with a big hoof and just crazy stats, another breed changer in the Charolais.

Bred April 6 to Falcon, preg checks safe. This bred heifer was not hard to pick out of my bred heifer pen. As you can see from her picture, she is long and deep ribbed with lots of natural muscling yet still keeps her feminine looks. Candy, with all her natural attributes, is a female that will lay down and whatever sex of calf hits the ground, it will be outstanding! Candy is the only registered animal in Canada off her sire Andalou; he is a bull I brought semen in from France. Andalou was the top gaining bull in France that was used on test for feedlot calves and had the highest gain per day! And to boot, Candy is AI bred safe for an early Jan calf, bred to another new bull who I am the only one in Canada to have 2016 progeny on the ground this year. His name is Falcon; he is another bull I brought semen in from France. Candy’s dam is a T cow and I have had her since she was a calf and she’s still going strong in my herd!

This direct Jumper daughter, in one word, is very easy to describe as a COOL calf! Destinie’s mother, SCF33W is a no miss cow; every year she lays down and produces a calf like Destinie! She is never late, so on saying that, Destinie is one soggy /deep sided heifer that will be an outstanding cow (just like her mother) in anyone’s herd and with today’s strong polled genetics in the purebred industry, I think Destinie would work for you guys in a remarkable way! I know what she will do for the Full French side so don’t miss out on her on sale day!

Dakota is a pretty neat, fancy calf who has always caught my eye since she hit the ground. Her sire, Farouk, is a heifer bull I brought semen in from France. Farouk has left me some pretty outstanding calves. Dakota, being off a first calf heifer, will show many of his unique attributes I have noticed in his progeny already. Plus, Dakota is off a really good, heavy milking, Pinay mother. It is just ALL GOOD!
