It will be held ON THE FARM in our heated shop featuring both CHAROLAIS and RED ANGUS. We have quietly been building a Red Angus herd and feel it is ready to showcase. Also on offer are 20 of our top tan Charcross open heifers.

We are honoured that you are taking the time to view our sale offering and welcome your confidence in our program. We do not creep feed our calves in the summer so weaning weights are a reflection of what the mothers can do on pasture. After weaning we feed our own silage based ration with a balanced mineral diet. We formulate the rations to maximize performance.

Sire selection is undoubtedly the most economical and practical method to meet your herd’s goal whether it be for heifer replacement or selling all your calves to market. Think about your goals for future production. Look at the ultrasound data. Look at the EPDs. Look at the genetics. I’m sure there is a bull for you.

elcome to the 1st McTavish Charolais & Red Angus Bull Sale. With over 45 bulls to market this spring, they felt it was time to have their own sale. They have invited the Moores, of Charla Moore Farms, to consign some of their quality Charolais bulls as well. The Charla Moore herd has been breeding Charolais for 40 years. With this being a power point sale the McTavishes did not need to build a special barn which made the move home with the sale a lot easier. I would encourage you to come early and have a good look at the bulls as they will not be coming through the ring when being sold.

Brian & Betty McTavish and their sons Jared and Sean and their families are committed to agriculture and the local community. Brian is an RM Councillor and was a representative on APAS in striving to make Saskatchewan and agriculture sustainable. They have been in the Charolais business for over 25 years and have built a productive cowherd using the same principles they use on their large commercial herd. Brian also did his turn on the Saskatchewan Charolais Association board of directors. During this time they also built a select herd of Red Angus females that, with the aid of some very good herdbulls, have produced some great bulls for you to select from.

Since the boys have moved back home they have gotten more involved in showing and had a good string at Agribition the last few years.

The higher the calving ease number, the easier the calving. The lower the birth weight number, the smaller the birth weights should be. Design is a performance bull with extremely sound feet and legs. You just can’t help but stand back and admire this bull’s muscle shape, spine length and his loin width. Red Adair is a stout, deep ribbed, moderate framed bull. Red Adair has a sound base with excellent feet and quiet temperament.

Breeder guArAnTee - Bulls:

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made.

Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives.

Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

dispuTes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

AnnouncemenTs: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.
