Welcome … to our 6th Annual Bull Sale
It is my honour and pleasure to invite you to our 6th Annual McTAVISH FARMS BULL SALE. To everyone who has purchased, bid on or showed interest in our sale, “THANK YOU”. Your support of our breeding program has allowed us to source top genetics. Our 2017 pen of bulls is one you do not want to miss. These bulls are an exciting group. Be it performance or calving ease, Charolais or Red Angus, we’ve got it! As far as the type, the bulls are structurally sound, moderately framed, stout, easy fleshing herd bulls with excellent temperament and thick hair coats backed by superior cow families. It is always a hectic time of year but we always look forward to bull sale time. We get to reacquaint with old friends, customers and meet many new cattlemen in search of genetics to enhance their breeding program. The genetics we offer on MARCH 14, 2017, are geared to work in any breeding program. We have concentrated on traits like calving ease, vigour at birth, sound udders, temperament and maternal qualities. We have appreciated our breeding decision this winter!
As our kids get older, they are involved in a lot more activities and it will only get busier. Plain and simple, we just do not have time to pull calves, help them to suck or get them going. Our outfit is no different than any of our bull customers. We believe that if the genetics work in our environment, we are confident they will work for you. We would be honoured to be considered as your genetic source for your next herd bull. Jordan Moore of CHARLA MOORE FARMS joins us again as guest consignor. Please join us for lunch before the Annual Bull Sale. If you need help in any way, don’t hesitate to give us or our professional sales team a call. Videos will be available at www.mctavishfarms.ca Come to the farm any time prior to sale day to view the bulls and their mothers. Hope to see you here on the 14th of March.
Wow, these two bullpens really impressed me when I went to picture and I am sure they will impress you when you see them. Growth, hair, meat, sound. Welcome to the 6th Annual sale featuring Charolais & Red Angus bulls from the McTavish family, with Charla Moore Charolais also consigning their best bulls to the sale again. The quality runs deep in the offering in both breeds with pedigrees that will work for the most discriminating commercial or purebred producer. With both Charolais and Red Angus bulls from the McTavish operation, they have continually added the best herdsires they could to improve the product they are offering to you. Jordan Moore of Charlamoore Charolais also has a solid set of bulls with some good Red Factor bulls available if that is what you want to add to your program. The Charolais bulls in the offering will calve well and then give you the added hair and performance required to top the market place. The Red Angus bulls had something for everyone from calving ease bulls to big performance bulls that will help you build a solid British influence cow herd. Quality is so ever important in an uncertain market with the front end calves always in demand and getting paid a premium. If you need to improve the quality of your herdbull battery and your calf crop, come have a look here. This is a video sale with videos available for viewing online at www.mctavishfarms.ca before the sale. Come early to have lunch, and view the bulls as they won’t be coming through the sale ring. Stay for a visit after the sale and get to know these good families who are committed to agriculture. If we can be of any assistance before or on sale day in helping you make your 306-584-7937 selections, please give us a call. These are the averages of all animals born in the last two years of the respective breeds. They cannot be compared across breed, but are a good indicator of genetic value within the breed. The lower the birth weight number, the smaller the birth weights should be. Of course, the higher the rest of the numbers, the more performance or milk they should provide.
FREE BOARD UNTIL MAY 15TH We will keep your bull to May 15, 2017, at no additional charge. Bulls are managed at the new owner’s risk. We recommend you insure your bull if you leave him with us. Insurance will be available sale day.

EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.
