From the desk at T Bar… Welcome to the 14th Edition of the “Best of the Breeds Bull Sale.” Each year this sale increases in quality, as these breeders have strived to make available the best genetics in their individual breeds and programs for the livestock industry. Since cross-breeding is commonplace in today’s industry, the line up of breeds can fill all your pasture requirements with just one trip to town...it’s a no brainer! Each program selects only their best bulls for this event. Whether you are looking for Angus, red and black; Gelbvieh, both red and black; Charolais, or Simmental, red, black, blaze or Fleckvieh, you will find what you need. The diversity of breeds and breeders give you a vast genetic pool to select from. Each of these breeders pride themselves in their programs and cow herds, trying to maintain a high maternal factor in the bulls without giving up performance. The bulls will be available for viewing at Heartland the day prior or feel free to visit any of the breeder’s farms, preview the bulls and see their mothers. Do not hesitate to call any of the consignors and discuss their lineup and which bulls would be suitable for your program. Plan to come early sale morning, view the bulls and be guests for a noon luncheon complete with hot and cold refreshments, then get your “Best of the Breeds” selection! If we, at T Bar C, may be of any assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give myself or any of our professional team a call, as we can help you with your needs.

Charolais

We’d like to invite you to the 2018 Best of the Breeds Bull Sale! We are excited to bring out what we feel may be our best set of bulls we have produced to date. The quality runs deep with some outstanding herdsire prospects. The use of A.I. sires Sparrows Kingston, Cedardale Zeal, and our 2015 high selling Ledger son HBC G2, has added depth, hair, overall muscle and growth. These bulls are sound and ready to go to work. Calving ease is important to you, and it’s important to us. That’s why when we select herd sires, calving ease and moderate birth weight are always a priority. We also value cattle with a great disposition, and these bulls certainly reflect those qualities. Char-cross calves are bringing a premium at the pre-sort sales. We congratulate you for your commitment to using Charolais bulls. Whether you are a purebred breeder or a commercial producer, this is a solid offering worth a serious look.

Doug, Tammy & Family

Sometimes things happen and you just can’t make it on sale day. For your convenience, new this year, our sale will be broadcast on DLMS. We invite you to stop by our farm prior to sale day, and have a look at the bulls and their mothers. As always, NO BULLS ARE PRE-SOLD before the sale.

Justin receiving November Gold judging award

Thank you for your support of our program. We look forward to seeing you in Yorkton. Join us for lunch and refreshments – we always enjoy your visit. See you on March 25th!

You can drive a long way and look at a lot of two-year-old Charolais bulls before you find a better bull than this powerful herd bull stamp. The look, the presence, everything about him says herdsire. He is soft made, smooth and correct. His dam was just outstanding at CCYA in 2015 where Justin showed her very well. He is in the top 3% of the breed for milk EPD and his maternal genetics prove just that with loads of milk and perfect teat size. We held him back for clean up on a few cows where he performed very well. This is the kind of bull every cattleman needs.

Take a look here. 705E has all the attributes you want in a herd bull. Thick curly hair coat and homo polled. Soft made and a great skull. Good solid foot, a great set of testicles, all in a moderate frame, with only 80 pound birth weight. His dam has a perfect udder and is super correct and ultra feminine. A bull that will leave a mark on the industry.

HBC 720E is some peoples’ pick of the pen this year. He has the herd bull look along with a thick hair coat, super feet and legs and a great genetic profile that will make him a great bull for his new owner. Whether you want to raise bulls or replacement females, this guy was made to be a breed improver. Calving ease, overall soundness, it’s hard to fault this guy. Check him out. He can give you whatever you need him to. His dam 8X is moderate and angular with a perfect udder. Southview Farms selected her Divergent son in 2015 and he is doing a great job for them.

HBC 722E is a great young son of the calving ease specialist Zeal. He has great muscle shape and is as quiet a bull as you will find. He is correct, deep and thick. We really like our Zeal calves. They are born easy and get up and grow. 803U continues to raise great ones even at the age of 10. She has a perfect square udder with loads of milk. HBC 722E is a bull that you could build a herd around.

HBC 709E is a powerful Round up son and full brother to one of our high sellers last that year that sold to Southview Farms, Ontario. He combines moderate birth weight with explosive performance. Our heaviest calf at weaning. His mother never misses raising a top end calf every year. Smooth and athletic, check this bull out. You will be impressed!
