Charolais continues to be the identifiable top quality cross that is commanding a premium at the marketplace. Combining top Angus genetics adds the hybrid vigor and strong maternal traits to produce top end tan and silver calves that are sought after. At Diamond W our goals are to produce sound functional cattle with hair, meat and muscle that are bred to calve easily while maximizing performance. Our success depends on yours and we will work hard to make sure you are satisfied and looked after. The 2017 bull pen went through hell and back. There was four feet of rain here since the end of July. They haven’t sat in a pen for 160 days like most as there was no high ground to pen them on. These bulls were weaned the week of Agribition and have only been away from their mothers for 70 days as I write this. You develop a whole new appreciation for the need of good feet and easy fleshing. Despite the adverse conditions this pen of bulls is exciting and one of the best offerings ever. There is a bull here for everyone no matter the color of your cowherd. There are dfinitely some standout breeder type bulls in both breeds that deserve your attention. These bulls will walk, will work, and will add to your bottom line. In the rare event of an incident, we will be there there for you. Can’t make the sale? As you will see in the performance information, the extremely muddy corrals and late freeze up delayed the weaning at Diamond W until late November. In just over two months these bulls have exploded and you would never know they missed a beat. This is a testament to the quality of the genetics developed in this operation over the past four decades. When we pictured in early February, the bulls were developing well with some great performance coming through and some tremendous gains as they catch up to their potential. This is the 15th annual sale in Minitonas, Manitoba, and again the quality of the bulls is very strong from top to bottom in both breeds, and the affordability is as good as you will find. You are welcome to tour the bulls at the farm at Hudson Bay any time prior to the sale. If you can’t attend sale day you can bid online with DLMS.ca. The sale numbers are such that if you need several bulls with consistent type and pedigree you can get them here. There are some definite breeder bulls here and something for everyone no matter what your program is. There are calving ease and mother making genetics in both the red and black Angus bulls that will help develop the British influence cowherd everyone wants to have. In the Charolais there are very easy calving bulls all the way to some big performance white and red factor bulls that will give any crossbreeding program the Charolais advantage come time to sell your calves. The Charolais Angus cross has been and will continue to be the industry standard, down the road. The Walkers have been building a strong cowherd for decades, buying some top herd bulls to complement their AI program and ever improving the quality of the herd and the product they have to offer. The Program
Our bulls have been rigorously sorted so that you are getting the best. They are selected to work for you – big testicles, good feet, easy fleshing and good hair. We continue to raise and invest in high quality females that can raise superior bulls for the commercial and purebred industry.
Credit Plan
Pay ½ the purchase price on sale day and the remaining balance on June 1 with a post-dated cheque left at time of settlement. Also, we do buy hay! We would be willing to take hay on trade or credit on bulls – call Diamond W for details.

Mastercard or Visa may be used for your bull purchases. A 3% surcharge will be applied.
Absentee Buying
If you can’t attend sale day, give us a call. We’ll help you find a bull to fit your program.
The Bulls
All bulls are measured and semen tested within 30 days of the sale. This information is freely available to you. All bulls have current weight and their performance information is provided.
No Room
If it is at all possible to take your bull home sale day, we would really appreciate it. If you simply can’t, don’t worry. We can take the yearling bulls home and care for them at no cost until May 1. These bulls must be insured. Two year old bulls will be delivered as soon as possible after the sale.
Delivery
Yes, we can deliver your bull. Delivery is $75, or deduct $50 from the purchase price if you take your bull home sale day.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association or Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk. Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. Exception Guarantee: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of all guarantees and representations. Insurance: Insurance will be available sale day. Pictures: By attending the sale you are granting permission for your picture to be used for promotional and advertising purposes relating to the sale.
