Welcome to our First Annual Creek’s Edge Bull Sale always enjoy visiting and learning about their operations. It is nice learning about how they are successfully using our bulls in their operations.
Our bulls are used in many black herds. The silver calves have so much potential and give you extra weaning weight. Tan calves always top the market. We have numerous customers who have switched their entire bull battery to Creek’s Edge bulls. This makes us very proud. We raise sound bulls that are easy doing and have great muscle shape and depth.
Our kids are always involved in what we do and what started out as little jobs has turned into their very active involvement in working with our cattle. This makes disposition very important. It is very important to us to grow and develop our bulls so they are healthy and do a good job for our customers. Our bulls are fed a complete ration consisting of oat silage, oat grain, alfalfa/broom hay, and a protein pellet with a complete mineral package.
O
n behalf of my family I would like to welcome you to our 1st Annual Creek’s Edge Bull sale. 14 years ago we started our Creek’s Edge herd. As we increased in numbers, we always tried to raise the best cattle we could. We carefully selected top genetics and paid close attention to traits we felt would drive our business forward. We have watched the quality of our cattle and bull pen improve every year and we are very proud to present this group of bulls selected from 180 purebred females.
After years of selling bulls off the farm, watching Charolais calves top the market, and seeing the increasing demand for white bulls, we decided there was no better time to have our first annual bull sale right at the farm. We really enjoyed selling our bulls private treaty. We started out marketing 12 bulls off the farm to the last few years selling 50-60 bulls each year. We know our customers well and
If you have never used a Charolais bull or if you have never used a Creek’s Edge bull, come out to the sale and have a look at what we have to offer. If you want to see these bulls move from the comfort of your home, videos are available on our website creeksedgecharolais.ca. Give us a call if you have any questions. We are happy to help in any way we can. If you would like to view the bulls in person, you are more than welcome to stop by the farm anytime and we will walk you through the bull pen. Our bulls will be sold by video so come early to view the bulls. The bulls will be penned in small groups to give you the opportunity to have a good look. Viewing starts at 10:30 am and coffee and donuts will be served. Please join us for a pizza lunch before the sale.
If you are not able to attend our sale, live online bidding through DLMS will be available sale day. You can also make arrangements with us or Helge or Candace By to place bids over the phone.
Anna and Ava will be setting up a “Kids Corner.” If you are bringing your kids to the sale, they can have fun while you view the bulls!
Please join us on March 15! We welcome you to our farm! Stephen, Kristin, Anna, Ava, Carter & Charlotte Wielgosz
We have been talking and planning a bull sale with Stephen and Kristin for a few years now and here it is. They wanted to wait until they had their new heated shop built so they could have a comfortable place to have their first video sale. They also chose to wait until they were sure the quality of the bulls was very high, and it is.
They have been doing a great job raising a solid, functional product and marketing their bulls off the farm. They already have many repeat customers who buy multiple bulls, but selling 50 plus bulls privately is very time consuming and many producers want first pick of the pen. You can now have first pick of the pen, as no bulls are sold prior to the sale. I know they have enjoyed getting to know their customers in a one on one situation in the bull pen and you can still do that by touring the sale offering prior to sale day. If you can’t do that, by all means, stay after the sale, have a visit and get to know this very family-oriented operation. The bulls are very quiet and there is a great mix of pedigrees with bulls that will calve well, give you the added performance you desire and then have calves that will top the market being in the top sort pens. There are many ½ and ¾ brothers if you are looking for multiple bulls and consistency in your calves. For the purebred breeders, you will find some bulls that will work in any program across the land. The sale will be broadcast live on www.dlms.ca, so if you can’t make it to the sale, you can bid online. Be sure to register early if you are using this service.
If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale, or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to find you bulls that are right for your program.
Sincerely, Helge & Candace By • By Livestock • 306.584.7937 cell 306.536.4261

Symbol is a new, polled AI sire for us. I liked the stoutness, depth and muscle of this bull. I really like the type of calves he is siring. They are deep, thick, and have good hair. They are definitely consistent in type.

Another bull out of the Lindskov-Thiel Charolais Ranch in South Dakota. This bull has a little different pedigree for us. We purchased Steppler 83U from Steppler Charolais out of the Hi-Weigh Breeders’ sale in Manitoba in 2009. We are very impressed with his body depth, excellent feet and legs, thick top and excellent hair coat. He is a phenomenal breeder and is extremely consistent. His bull calves are very desirable and pretty much sell themselves. They are thick and have great hair. Just a perfect type to sire market topping steers. CE 3.5 BW 2.4 WW 46 YW 81 M 17 TM 40 His daughters have quickly risen to become cornerstones of our herd. They have nice udders and milk extremely well. He sires excellent show females. They are thick and have excellent muscle shape, yet pull it together into a feminine front end. This bull has exceeded all of our expectations. The consistency and qualities he passes on to his progeny will be hard to duplicate. He is a mild mannered bull that will walk our pastures as long as he can.

We have used Ledger on our heifers for several years now with great success. His calves grow and have great style. He is a Homozygous Polled bull from Lindskov-Thiel Charolais Ranch in South Dakota. He has true range calving ability with proven low birthweights on his progeny. He has excellent foot structure and eye appeal that he passes onto his calves.
