hank you to everyone who came to the farm or joined us online through DLMS last year, for our first bull sale. It was so great to visit with all of our past customers and meet many news ones. We had a successful first sale with ¾ of the bulls going to repeat customers. Thank you for choosing Creek’s Edge Bulls!

We invite you to join us on Thusday, March 14th. Come early to view the bulls as this will once again be a video sale. The bulls will be penned in small groups giving you the opportunity to take your time and have a good look. Enjoy a morning coffee and fresh cinnamon buns sponsored by Gateway Vet Services. Farmworld has graciously offered to sponsor our “Beef Themed” pizza lunch. The sale will begin at 1:30.

We are proud of this group of bulls in the catalogue selected out of 180 Purebred females. This is a very consistent group in type and quality, with our top end getting better every year. We are working hard to develop these bulls in a healthy manor and continue to invest in genetics to advance our herd and our customers’ herds through our bulls.

If you have never used a Charolais bull, or if you have never used a Creek’s Edge bull, come to the sale and have a look at what we have to offer. If you would like to view the bulls in person prior to sale day, you are more than welcome to stop by the farm anytime and we will walk you through the bull pen.

If you are not able to attend our sale, live online bidding through DLMS will be available sale day. You can also make arrangements with us, or any member of our sales management team, to place bids over the phone.

Welcome to the 2nd Creek’s Edge Bull Sale. After selling privately off the yard, they moved to a sale last year. They still encourage you to come before sale day, if it works better, and have a look at the bulls. If you were at last year’s sale, you know the quality of the product and the people you are dealing with. Stephen and Kristin and their young family are committed to providing a product that will help your operation be profitable. This low stress video sale in their new heated shop was fun for the whole family. They encourage you to bring your kids, they will have a corner set up for the youngsters to enjoy the day as well. The bulls are very quiet and there is a great mix of pedigrees with bulls that will calve well, give you the added performance you desire and then have calves that will top the market being in the top sort pens. There are many ½ and ¾ brothers if you are looking for multiple bulls and consistency in your calves. For the purebred breeders, you will find some bulls that will work in any program across the land.

The sale will be broadcast live on www.dlms.ca, so if you can’t make it to the sale, you can bid online. Be sure and register early if you are using this service.

We feed our bulls a complete ration of oat silage, oat grain, alfalfa/broom hay and a protein pellet with a complete mineral package.

We have used LT Ledger on our heifers for several years now with great success. His calves grow and have great style. He is a Homozygous Polled bull from Lindskov-Thiel Charolais Ranch, in South Dakota. He has true range calving ability with proven low birthweights on his progeny. The females are impressive with great udders. The pick of our bull pen that sold in the 2015 National Sale to Wrangler Charolais, was sired by LT Sundance.

We purchased Steppler 83U from Steppler Charolais out of the Hi-Weigh Breeders sale in Manitoba in 2009. We are very impressed with his body depth, excellent feet and legs, thick top and excellent hair coat. He is a phenomenal breeder and is extremely consistent.

His bull calves are very desirable and pretty much sell themselves.

They are thick and have great hair. Just a great type to sire market topping steers.

His daughters have quickly risen to become cornerstones of our herd.

They have nice udders and milk extremely well. He sires excellent show females. They are thick and have excellent muscle shape yet pull it together into a feminine front end.

This bull has exceeded all of our expectations. The consistency and qualities he passes on to his progeny will be hard to duplicate. He is a mild mannered bull that will walk our pastures as long as he can.

Anna won one of the two $1000 junior sale credits offered by the Steppler Family at the sale! Both heifers had LAE Cruise 502C bull calves. Andre chose this bull out of the Horseshoe E program to ensure calving ease on these sale heifers. He is smooth fronted and small headed.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made.

BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

DISPUTES: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.

PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made.

DELIVERY: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale.

The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.

BREEDER GUARANTEE – BULLS: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to

be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise,in the event of accident or lossof property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of all guarantees and representations.

INSURANCE: Insurance will be available sale day.

PICTURES: By attending the sale you are granting permission for your picture to be used for promotional and advertising purposes relating to the sale.
