Take this as your personal invitation to the last sale of the season in Saskatchewan where you can get top quality Charolais and Red Angus genetics. This sale has become a great finish to the season with excellent herdsire prospects for the most discriminating purebred or commercial producer. The Red Angus bulls of WRAZ are coming from a great cowherd with some excellent maternal strength that will breed on into your cowherd. There are some definite cowherd building genetics here, as well as some great calving ease bulls along with some performance bulls that will sire the top cut calves next fall. Brimner Cattle Co. have been producing quality Charolais bulls for over 3 decades and this year’s bull pen may be as consistently good as they have had. The calving ease, thickness and style of the first calves by the Bar J Trojan bull with top 1% calving ease and birth weight EPD will interest anyone looking for trouble free crossbreeding. The Red Angus female and the Charolais bull have been producing the market topping tan calves in the auction markets for years and here you can get the makings for this combination at one sale. Haven’t found your next herdbull yet this spring? Well don’t worry, you will find one here. If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to help you find a bull that is right for your program. WRAZ RED ANGUS Welcome to the Fifth Annual CORNERSTONE “More Bang for Your Buck” Bull sale! I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our Fifth annual sale at the Whitewood Auction Mart right along #1 Highway, Whitewood Sask. The bulls on offer are ready to go out and work for you to realize a good return on your investment! Both Kelly and I have the same goals – to send you a good breeding animal raised without creep feed and then fed a high roughage diet to express their genetic growth potential yet not jeopardize the longevity of the animal. A tremendous amount of time, effort and investment goes into sourcing the genetics to produce these bulls which we are pleased to present to you in the offering. I encourage you to discuss your future genetic needs with us anytime. We are constantly on the hunt for the next piece of the genetic puzzle so your input helps us to help you. I look at it this way – if you do well, we do well, so we would like to work with you toward a very prosperous future in the cattle industry. With that I would like to also invite you to view our whole program anytime, five miles east of Wawota, then 1 mile North and ¼ mile West (watch for WRAZ signs). ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE Friday April 5 at WRAZ RED ANGUS. Please join us any time after 1:30 to have a look at the dam, sire and siblings of your next herd sire! Come and check out the udders and quality of females we have with their 2013 born calf at foot, along with the herd sires we will be using this breeding season. The whole herd will be right at the yard and available for your evaluation. The BBQ will be hot for a little food, the coffee and tea will be on to show our appreciation for the time you have taken to come and see what our program has to offer! Thank you in advance for your attendance. The 2013 calves are arriving daily and we just had a major snow event which made for a lot more work than we needed right now! (I need to thank Gordon Murray for the daily duties he does around here – without his dedication to this operation I would not be able to get ‘er done!). Bull sale catalogues are arriving daily in the mailbox and I am searching for the next great one just as you are so I realize how many catalogues you have to choose from. All I can say is this: if you like what you see on the following pages I would be honoured to introduce you to our program. If you choose to be a customer of this program you can rest assured that we stand behind our bulls and females 100%, as advertised we are and will continue to be “The Program You Can Count On”! I do believe that HONESTY, INTEGRITY and COMMUNICATION are the key to a valuable long term customer relationship and long term is what we are all about here at WRAZ. My family is the fourth generation to make a living off this century farm and I hope one of the children in my life will choose to carry on after me as the fifth! Kevin Wadham of JM Beef put together our forage based rations again this year with a goal of 3 lb./hd/day. This feeding program along with plenty of exercise will maximize the longevity of your investment. Kevin always put a ration together with whatever source of feed I had gathered the most of each year, no two years were the same but he always made it work. Kevin was a good friend and a great, honest man to work with and he will be dearly missed! With deepest sympathy our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin’s family and friends. I stated last year that this cattle market is good and it looks that way for the foreseeable future and I still strongly believe that! The best genetics you can afford will always pay you in the end, whether you are trying to raise lbs. of calf to sell or keying in on replacement females to have in place for the expansion phase of the cattle cycle. Please call or drop by before the sale and allow us to help you make an informed decision on your next herd sire – remember your next herd sire is 50% of the future genetic base you have to work with! We live with these cattle most of the year and watch them grow into what they are today, so please call myself or Gordon if you have any questions at all or would like to drop by for a tour anytime. If you cannot make the sale but need a bull please call to arrange a presale visit or a plan to purchase sight unseen on your behalf. We will treat you right! All the best! ~ Phil Birnie • Box 461, Wawota, SK S0G 5A0 • T 306-739-2988 • C 306-577-7440 • info@wraz.ca • www.wraz.ca

Cornerstone Bull & Female Sale

As the herd health veterinarian for WRAZ Red Angus, I am involved with creating the vaccination program, the breeding soundness evaluations on the herd for sale bulls, preg checking and any other issues that may arise. The herd is on the ZoetisBovisheild Gold Program (formerly Pfizer Gold) with guarantees that all calves are PI free. The sale bulls have received two Fusoguard vaccinations against foot rot prior to the sale. They are subjected to a rigorous breeding soundness evaluation, which includes setting my purse/murse down before I pull the tape. In short Phil spares no expense in ensuring that he brings a healthy, sound, fertile bull to the sale for you to take home and use. ~ Henry McCarthy, DVM McCarthy Veterinary Services Wawota, SK

YOU COULD WIN A HEIFER BY SUPPORTING RELAY FOR LIFE! Tickets will be auctioned at the start of the sale. Relay for Life gives you an opportunity to Celebrate cancer survivors, Remember and honour loved ones lost to cancer and Fight back against all cancers. Hi, my name is Sierra Murray, I am 10 years old, and today I am going to tell you about the Relay for Life. When I was 2 my mom was diagnosed with A.L.L. Leukemia. When she got better we decided to give back to the Canadian Cancer Society by joining in the Relay for Life. In the 6 years I have done the relay we have raised over $15,000. This year my mom and dad are planning a Relay for Life in my home town of Wawota on June 15th. As always we have entered a team and with the help of Phil and my Papa Gordon we have decided to offer a donation heifer at the sale. I have 3 cows at WRAZ and have offered my only heifer up for this donation. If you are unable to attend the sale but would like to donate please feel free to contact Phil or Papa Gordon. My favorite thing about the relay for life is the Survivor walk because at the end I get to walk with my mom and that makes me feel PROUD! ~ Sierra Murray/WRAZ

This fella had quite a journey to get to this point. Treasure is sired by Crimson Jewels and out of the strong Serebl cow family. Crimson Jewels is a real easy doing heifer bull with muscle expression and shape. We found this guy’s dam 105R beyond repair in late June and had to part with her yet he still made the bull pen. Treasure 124Z stayed out on his own with that group of cows to fend for himself. He got a little rough haired and looked a little hard done by but he still managed a 104 in the ADG index. The females that he will produce will be a treasure in anyone’s herd.

BRIMNER CATTLE CO. Welcome to our 5th Annual Cornerstone Bull Sale This year we have probably the most even set of bulls we have raised. We are really excited about the Bar J Trojan sons this year. They are thick, moderate famed and have good dispositions. He is truly a calving ease specialist. There are many ½ and ¾ brothers in this offering to provide you with an opportunity to produce a more uniform calf crop. These are not a bunch of pampered bulls. They were raised on mamma’s milk and fed for a nice steady growth over winter. We sure have appreciated your support over the years and look forward to working with you and new customers in the future. Please feel free to stop in at the farm to see the bulls before the sale or call for more information, so we can get you the right bull to fit your program. Remember, the Charcross calves consistently sell for more dollars. More pounds = more $. Looking forward to seeing you at the sale. ~ Kelly
