Welcome to the 4th Annual Benchmark Bull Sale. It’s an exciting time to be in the cow-calf business with prices being at an all-time high. Thank you to those who braved the snow storm to attend and purchase at last year’s sale.

The Blackbern and Whitewater bulls are being fed at our home farm in Foresters Falls. The bulls are fed free choice hay and limit fed a pelletted bull ration. They spend most of the time in their field getting the exercise they require to maintain great muscle condition with limited fat.

The bulls were pictured in January, so please feel free to stop by to view them any time as they will change appearance almost weekly at this stage of their development.

The demand for Charolais and Char-cross calves continues to increase. Add in our philosophy of easy calving and high weaning weight and you will reap the benefits in the fall. For those of you looking to retain replacement heifers in your herd, our balanced EPDs should give you the growth, as well as the milking ability you are looking for.

Sale terms

• Bulls sell under the standard terms and conditions set out by the Canadian Charolais Association.

• Please make all settlements immediately after the sale.

Bull health

• All bulls will sell with a semen check and vet examination to ensure that you are purchasing a quality herd bull.

• Additional performance data will be available on sale day.

• The Blackbern and WhiteWater herds are vaccinated using the Bovishield Gold live vaccine protocol, and the bulls will also have received their blackleg booster shot.

The Cornerview vaccination program is Pyramid 5 plus Presponse live vaccine and bulls will receive Blackleg + HS booster at sale time.

Announcements

• Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue.

Delivery

• Please see the seller if you require delivery after the sale. Shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.

• We will keep bulls until April 30 free of charge. As of May 1, a boarding fee of $3.00 per day applies. We are not liable for the bulls after the sale and ask that you insure any bull returning to the farm.
