Team Newsletter June 2020 Special COVID-19 Edition

Message from CEO It has been a busy couple of months as we have focused on getting our COVID Safe Plans in place in line with approved industry plans and Queensland Government requirements. Well done to the many clubs who reopened their gyms last week and welcomed back members into the clubs safely. It continues to be a complex process to reach a new normal, and I appreciate everyone’s efforts to ensure the continued operations and future success of our clubs and the organisation. In wonderful news as many of you know, on Queensland Day on 6 June, PCYC Queensland received the honour of being recognised as an institutional Queensland Great. This remarkable achievement is a great honour for our past and present staff, volunteers and police officers whose passion and dedication for PCYC and the young people we work with inspires me each and every day. Despite the challenges we have all faced in recent months, this award provides recognition of the essential work we do in local communities, and reinforces how important our clubs, services and programs are to young Queenslanders.

Phil Schultz Chief Executive Officer

PCYC Queensland honoured to receive title of a Queensland Great! PCYC Queensland is honoured to be amongst remarkable individuals and organisations, named as the institution recipient of the 2020 Queensland Greats Award. Working with the Queensland Police Service to meet local community needs since 1948, this year PCYC Queensland celebrates more than 70 years of supporting Queensland communities through youth and community programs, activities and services. PCYC Queensland Chief Executive Officer Phil Schultz is thrilled to be amongst 15 remarkable institutions to be honoured as a Queensland Great since 2001. “PCYC Queensland clubs, programs and essential services play a vital role in positively impacting thousands of young people’s lives each year, many of whom are at risk, disadvantaged or disengaged,” said Mr Schultz. “With 2020 being a year like no other, I feel privileged that PCYC Queensland has been honoured with the title of a Queensland Great. It is a great honour for our past and present staff, volunteers and police officers who continue to change lives and change communities. Together, we remain committed to building safer, healthier communities through youth development.” Thank you Queensland, for making us a Queensland Great!
