The Halloween version of Cars and Coffee

The morning of October 31 proved to be a spooky good time for a group of about 60 Gold Coast members and guests who met up with a group from Hagerty Garage and Social at their new facility in Delray Beach. While many of us are familiar with Hagerty insurance for our Porsches and collector cars, the Garage and Social component is fairly new. For those that are not familiar, here is what I googled: “At Hagerty Garage + Social, we take car culture seriously. Each location features climate-controlled, dust-free garages with 24/7 security, plus premium social space to gather with fellow automotive enthusiasts. Garage + Social is a car lover’s home away from home” Our thanks to Hagerty managers Mike Parchment and Matt Spralding for inviting GCR to see their facility and some of the cool cars, enjoy coffee, halloween theme donuts, and lots of halloween candy. A detailer was present to provide car care tips as well as hand out samples of Mothers detailing products. While the adults were socializing, Dottie Kidd kept the the PCA Juniors occupied with arts and craft projects, including coloring a Porsche, with their favorite colors. Some of the adults and kids chose to dress up while others chose to dress up their Porsches. While no official costume contest was held, the sure winners would most likely have been the Gonzalez families, who dressed up their Panamera and their 911 as well as themselves. The trunk and frunks were filled with decorations, candy and home made cup cakes. Thanks again to Mario, Lissette, Raul, Julie, Alyson and Hailey for the spectacular effort. Another great costume was Christy Spangler’s, as a witch and flew in on her black 944 broom. Thanks again to everyone for their participation and to Mike and Matt for hosting this ghostly event.
