Project statement

TREAT, HEAL, CONNECT: Utilizing connections to biophilichealing, and inter-generational design strategies around education and food. Our Behavioral Health Facility aims to create space that nurtures the needs of patients and communitymembers by becoming a tool for learning and interpersonal relationship building across all ages.

Courtyard

This facility will provide adult behavioral healthcare with geriatric treatment & service components. We feel it is important to implement design strategies that encourage transitionand increase patient confidence in their journey from inpatient. This is done through maximizing varying levels of interaction (physical/visual) in patient gardens and courtyards, while having extroverted community functionsmimic this as well with green spaces, food garde, and community centers that better engages senior populations.
