OBITUARY

Lionel Blaise

"Ti Nel"

April 19, 1955 -February 4, 2025

Some people leave a mark so deep that time can never erase it. Lionel "Ti Nel" Blaise was one of those rare souls. His generosity, kindness, and love touched everyone who knew him. He helped all he knew, never hesitating to lend a hand, offer advice, or brighten someone's day with his warmth and wisdom.

Born on April 19, 1955, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Lionel built a life rooted in hard work and devotion. In 1971, he made the journey to the United States, traveling between Haiti and Boston to support his father's small mechanical business while also running his store "Lionel Shop" back home. His store was more than just a business; it was a gathering place, a home away from home, filled with carefully selected imported goods that were exclusive treasures. The quality of his products kept customers coming back, but it was his warmth, humor, and generosity that turned them into lifelong friends. It was in that very store where he met his wife, Leonne Blaise, and where his children, Kimberlie Blaise, Lionel Blaise Jr., Valerie Blaise, and Exaviere "Chamie" Blaise grew up learning the values of resilience, kindness, and community. In 1997, he made the life-changing decision to move his immediate family to Boston, ensuring they had greater opportunities and a brighter future. He later built a career at Boston Scientific Corporation, continuing his lifelong commitment to providing for his loved ones.

No matter where life took him, his heart remained with his family and community-always giving, always supporting. Beyond his hard work and generosity, Lionel found joy in the simple things: a scoop of pistachio ice cream, the excitement of a good soccer game (especially when his beloved Brazilian team played), and unwinding with action movies, nature documentaries, culturallydiversed cooking shows.

With seven grandchildren, Tristan Joseph, Carlos Gooding Jr, Cainen Gooding, Quincy Blaise, Phoenix Blaise, Kingston Blaise and Maverick Blaise, who adored him, Lionel's legacy of love continues through the generations. His kindness was boundless, his laughter and sense of humor is unforgettable, and his presence irreplaceable.

"Those we love never truly leave us. Their love is woven into the fabric of our hearts forever."
