To My Love

It’s hard to put into words the weight of losing someone who made life feel full my fiancé, Domingo.

Domingo wasn’t just the man I loved, adored, and appreciated he was a passionate cook who could turn a random recipe he found online into something amazing. Our kitchen was his happy place, and I was lucky to be his favorite Sue Chef and taste tester.

As time was winding down, things shifted and Domingo would sit in his grandfather’s favorite chair and direct what seasonings to add to prepare each meal we cooked together. He spent over 35years serving and protecting as a police officer, but when he came home, he found peace in the quiet moments we shared especially when we curled up together to watch inspirational movies that moved us both.

What I will miss most is the adventures we had. He made our Friday night date night very special.

I will miss that.

He had a strong heart, a steady presence, and a soul that found joy in the simple, beautiful things. His love for music - oldies but goodies always played in the car whenever we took a drive. His love for his family touched my heart because that’s something we are both passionate about. Cancer took him from this world, but not from my heart.

I miss him every day and I carry his love, his strength, and his spirit with me always.

Domingo “I Do!”

Rest easy, my love.
