Tarra Nicole Malone was born on April 19, 1973, in Boston, MA, and entered eternal rest on September 16, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of the late Emilia Davis (Malone) and the late Robert Owens Sr.
Tarra grew up in Columbia Point, Dorchester, and Beech Street, Roslindale, before briefly residing in Mattapan and making Roxbury her home for over 20 years. She attended Phineas Bates Elementary School, Washington Irving Middle School, and West Roxbury High School.
Tarra cherished the role of mother above all else. She was the proud and devoted mother of her daughters, Antonique Saunders and the late Keturah Lee. Her children were the center of her universe, and she showered them with unconditional love and support. Tarra’s daughters were her greatest joy, and she carried the title of “Mother” with immense pride.
Tarra had a distinguished career as a Surgical Technician and was a valued team member at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where she worked for over 20 years. Her dedication, expertise, and compassionate care were well-known and appreciated by her colleagues and the surgeons she collaborated with. Tarra was recognized as one of the best in her field and deeply loved by all who had the privilege of working with her.
Tarra was a true diva who exuded elegance, poise, and beauty. Her vibrant personality shone through in everything she did. She was intelligent, caring, funny, and feisty, with a heart of gold and an infectious laugh. A talented chef, Tarra expressed her love through cooking, delighting family and friends with her exquisite dishes, such as her famous Soul Rolls, seafood specialties, and lasagna. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her love of gourmet food was a testament to her impeccable taste.
An avid reader and fashion enthusiast, Tarra had a keen eye for style, especially her collection of designer purses and shoes. She was a self-taught hairdresser, an exceptional interior designer, and a master with a drill, always eager to put her skills to use. Tarra’s love for music and her melodic, angelic voice were just a few of the many talents that defined her.
To know Tarra was to love her. Her inviting aura and captivating charm made her the kind of friend everyone wished they had. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
