OBITUARY

Priscilla Tate

Sunrise - Sunset

November 12, 1959 August 25, 2024

Priscilla Tate, also known as (PT or Glamma) age 64, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Roxbury, Massachusetts, on August 25, 2024. Priscilla was born November 12, 1959, in Erie, Pennsylvania. The daughter of Minister Ruth Tate and the late Howard P. Tate Sr. Priscilla graduated from East High School in Erie, PA in 1977. Priscilla continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Financial Economics. She later continued her education at Boston University, where she earned a Master's Degree in Financial Economics in 2014.

While working as the Director of Administration and Finance at MAC (Multicultural Aids Coalition). Priscilla also worked as an Accounting Clerk Manager at Belmont Housing Authority and later served as a Statewide Fiscal and Evaluation Manager at the University of Massachusetts Boston. In addition, Priscilla worked as a Senior Research Administrator at Boston University. Priscilla was an advocate for Social Justice and dedicated her life to helping people throughout her career.

Priscilla found God early in her life and the Love of God. Priscilla had a heart of gold and found joy in helping everyone. She would give her last to feed or house anyone in need. She was a powerful force who lit up every room she was in. She was the life of every party and had a laugh so contagious you can hear it now as you are reading this passage.

Priscilla leaves behind her only child, her son Antoine King. Though her physical presence is gone, her love remains a tangible force that guides his every step. A mother's love, even in its absence, remains a constant beacon, a guiding light that illuminates the path even in the darkest of his nights. A proud mother of all of her son's successes, who always spoke words of encouragement.

Priscilla's legacy lives on and the values she instilled in everyone. Especially those instilled in her pride and joy, the reason she is all our Glamma's, Mason and Khloe King. Priscilla spoke about always being kind to yourself and more importantly to others, the significance of your education, and the courage to face life's challenges with grace, dignity, and to lead with God.

Priscilla has devoted all her time and effort to her family. She loved her family and praised her mother, Minister Ruth Tate, a praying mother. Priscilla was well known for her kindness, joyful, and vibrant personality that stood out boldly and proudly to everyone who encountered her. Priscilla was loved by her family and was like a mother to all her nieces, nephews, and Antoine's friends. Priscilla loved to cook for the family and mastered her collard greens and pound cake.

Priscilla is survived by her mother, Minister Ruth Tate of Erie, PA. Her son, Antoine King and daughter in law, Wendy Lima-King and three grandchildren, Giselle (Gigi) Gonzalez, Mason and Khloe King of Boston, MA. She is also survived by her sisters, Rose Marie (Sylvester) Nicholas and Edna Tate of Boston, MA; Maxine Overton and Sandra Burns of Erie, PA; and her brothers Howard Tate Jr. of Erie, PA, Raymond Tate of Waldorf, MD, Roger Tate of Wesley Chapel, FL. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was cherished by her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will always be in our hearts.

O B I T U A R Y

A limb has fallen from the family tree.

1 keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.

The good life 1 lived while 1 was strong.

Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.

Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.

Remembering all, how 1 truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small.

Go on with your life, don't worry about falls.

1 miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.

Until the day comes we're together again.
