Migdalia was a woman of quiet wisdom, deeply rooted in the values of love, family, and faith. Her life was a dance to the rhythms of salsa music, a testament to the joy she carried within her. She found profound fulfillment in her kitchen, the heart of her home, where her meals were more than sustenance—they were expressions of love that nourished both body and soul. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, often sharing joyful moments with her sisters and nieces, who were like the threads that wove her life's tapestry.

It is with deep sorrow yet profound gratitude for a life welllived that we announce the passing of Migdalia Ortiz.

Surrounded by the love of her family, Migdalia departed this world peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 76.

Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, to Eusebio Cora and Emilia Carrion, Migdalia grew up with a heart full of love and a spirit of strength that would carry her through life's many challenges.

Losing her mother at the young age of 18, she embraced the role of caretaker and nurturer to her twelve siblings, embodying a quiet resilience and unwavering faith that would become the hallmark of her character.

Migdalia leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Mrs. Madeline King (Anthony) of Randolph, MA; Ms. Jennifer Ortiz of Stoughton, MA; and Mr. Henry Ortiz of Boston, MA. She was a devoted grandmother to her cherished grandsons, Malik, Makaih, and Nikolas, who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Carmen Luz Diaz, Sonia Ali, Diana Cora, Manuel Cora, Norma Iris Malaret, Domingo Marrero, Maria Magdalena Caez, Ruben Cora, Clarisol Singletary, and William Cora, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Aida Melendez and Eddie Cora.

Migdalia was blessed to marry the love of her life, Henry “Papo” Ortiz, with whom she shared many joyful years. Their marriage was a testament to partnership and mutual respect, a dance of life marked by shared laughter, enduring support, and love that transcended all trials.

It has been said, "Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity." Migdalia's love was boundless and unconditional. Her legacy is one of selflessness, nurturing, and a heart open to giving without the expectation of return. She taught those around her the value of family, the importance of resilience, and the grace that comes from living a life grounded in love.

Migdalia’s spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, a quiet yet powerful reminder that love, in its truest form, endures beyond the confines of this world. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her influence will forever echo in the lives she touched, a testament to the enduring power of a life lived with love, courage, and grace.

Her family invites all who knew her to remember her not with sorrow, but with the joy she carried in her spirit—a joy that will continue to live on in every shared memory, every cherished moment, and every act of kindness inspired by her example. In this, Migdalia will never be forgotten.
