Lorenzo “Tate” Anderson
1971-2023

Tate was a very skilled man. He loved fishing with his father, uncles and others. He was a construction worker by trade, machine operator, painter, he cut and twisted hair, was an amazing cook, and so much more he did. Let’s not forget how skilled he was in basketball as well, so talented that teachers and recruiters wanted him to pursue it as a career to become a pro athlete. That’s how much potential and how great he was at playing.
Tate was at peace when he was relaxing and chilling listening to his old school R & B and Reggae. Boxing matches got him excited, he knew when there was a fight coming on. Family cookouts, you couldn’t miss him on the grill, that was his element. You would also catch him once in a while with some dance moves but those who partied with him knew what time it was. Family meant everything to him. No matter what! Mad with you or not he was a rider and very protective. Do not tell him you have a problem or else it’s over. He loved hard. We won’t forget his contagious laugh, advice, craziness, and passion he had for others.
Lorenzo “Tate” Anderson, know to us all as “Tate” was born March 27th, 1971. Tate was born & raised in Dorchester as the son of Bernice Anderson and James “J.C.” Coleman (deceased).

Tate woke up early in the mornings, earlier than most of us would wake up, to go to work every day. After work he would check in on his loved ones. He loved his friends, family, beloved companion, Erika, but no love topped the love for his mother. She would get 100 calls and missed calls from him daily. He was definitely a Mama’s boy.
Tate enjoyed being around his crew aka The Ave Boys, y’all know who you are. Bad Boys For Life!
Tate leaves behind his wife Denise Anderson, his mother Beatrice, his siblings, sister Raquel Anderson aka Rocky, Bernice Jackson, brother Wayne Jackson, special niece Teirra Anderson, special companion, Erika Bent along with a host of step kids, aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
Tate you were loved, still loved by many and forever will be missed. Lorenzo will be laid to rest with his father, James “J.C.” Coleman.
He Will Be Missed Forever.
