Acknowledgements

It is an honour to be a member of The University of Queensland (UQ) School of Music community. This community – comprising our staff, students, affiliates, adjuncts and honoraries, external stakeholders and alumni – is the strength of the School. Across all its endeavours – teaching, research, music creation, public engagement and in wider service contributions to the University and externally – our success is underpinned by this strongly interconnected community. This review submission provides a record of that success, addresses the challenges we are facing and presents strategies for navigating the road ahead. Many people have contributed to the School’s vision, strategy and review preparation and I thank and recognise our academic and professional staff, students and stakeholders for their valuable contributions. I want to thank, in particular, the School Executive Committee – Dr Mary Broughton, Associate Professor Denis Collins and Dr Simon Perry. Special thanks are also owed to our School Manager, Mr Gary Johnson, and our Concerts and Engagement Officer, Mr Paul Young. Finally, I would like, again, to acknowledge the extraordinary achievements of all our staff and students over the period since the last review.
