INTRODUCTION

The internet is a very big elephant and to eat an elephant you take it one piece at a time. Every internet “expert” or guru has his own views about how to succeed online but like any other thing in life, there is no one perfect way or one size fits all. Some say content is king. Some say begin with a list. Some say begin with 100% automation. Content, list, and automation all matter, but what about the person that is just beginning and hardly knows what a list or content or automation looks like?

In my opinion, a beginner should start with a product to prove his credibility and from there move on to building a list while at the same time gradually working towards automating his website to work on autopilot.

This first module therefore focuses on how you can develop your first eProduct. The truth however, is, you don’t have to wait until you have a perfect product. Just begin and continue improving along the way. If you compare cars or any product for that matter, you notice that the second is always better than the first and so on in terms of design, sleekness, functionality, and performance, to mention just a few aspects. That should be your aim. Start, and keep improving day in and day out.

In this course, the focus is entirely on electronic products (eProducts), not the selling of physical products online, which is referred to as e-commerce. Module 2: Book Writing Blueprint For Newbies INTRODUCTION Books represent one of the most lucrative products one can develop to position him or herself as an expert both on and offline, more so, online. Your book can get to the White House, Kremlin or Buckingham Palace, which you may not be able to get to. But a book is a low value product, selling at about $10 to $20 on the average so you need to sell thousands of books to make any substantial impact or really make money.

Here I’m talking about really good books, well researched and written with a good storyline. An average book rarely sells more than a few thousand copies so you need to put in your best effort to ensure your book makes it to the best seller list. This is easier said than done, but it can be done.

The best place to start to learn the ropes to speak professionally is Toastmasters International. Starting tomorrow, find the nearest Toastmasters Club to where you live and join. Toastmasters International began in 1924 (started by a man by the name Dr. Ralph Smedley) and today encompasses the globe. In all, there are more than 330,000 Toastmasters Clubs in 221 countries and territories. The truth about Toastmasters, however, is that it’s a preparation ground for amateurs to learn the speaking ropes. Within the Club there is a track that leads to the professional ranks, wherein you receive the letters AS (Accredited Speaker), widely considered the equivalent of CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), conferred by the NSA (National Speakers Association). The NSA is for professional speakers.

If you join and stay in a Toastmasters Club for say two years and are active, and do all the required exercises and projects even as a complete novice, you’ll become an effective speaker. Toastmasters approach is so effective nothing else compares. And the good news is that the fee is rock bottom. With less than $50 you can be up and running in a Toastmasters Club. A little secret as I have already implied above is that the more you put in, in terms of speaking, the more you get out.

In the affairs of men, nothing matters more in building wealth, influence and leverage than the friends you keep. In short, your network! As Brian Tracy once quipped, “you can’t fly with the eagles if you keep scratching with the turkeys.”

Whenever you attend a social function, whether it’s a society wedding, a big red-carpet event, or a presidential ball, just watch closely who hangs around with whom. You’ll soon discover that after the initial greetings and exchange of pleasantries, the people will imperceptibly drift into the groups they belong: the poor will gather together to moan the bad economy, the middle class will be back slapping their group members and boasting about the next big toy they are planning to acquire, while the rich will be talking in hush tones in their own circle where the next big investment is likely to come from. Module 5: Priority Management Blueprint For Newbies INTRODUCTION

Paul you know how it is; one of my students tried to explain away why she has not been able to write one book in her over sixty years of existence on earth. Traffic, church, meetings, weddings, children, grandchildren, she started listing all the monsters preventing her from being more productive. In passing, I asked her and the rest of the class, is there anybody that has more than 24 hours? There was silence from wall to wall.

One of the most devastating impacts of social media and the negative implications of the new social environment is that you’re constantly pulled in a million directions in any given moment and if you’re not careful you could be sucked in and consumed not by anything worthwhile but by noise. Should you be on Twitter, FaceBook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, WhatsApp, WeChat, StumbleUpon, Vimeo, Periscope, Warrior Forum, or any of the over 120 social media sites that spring up all over the internet like mushroom? How many minutes per day should you spend answering emails, text messages, mass mailings, phone calls, church events, weddings, burials, naming ceremonies, birthdays, and house warmings? The list of things that cry for our attention grows by the day. The secret to staying productive, maintaining a semblance of sanity and actualizing your purpose on this place called earth is to operate by your own set of standard and not the one imposed on you by society. The secret is to use a Priority Management Blueprint guided by your values.

It starts with knowing your purpose in life. Knowing ones purpose in life is easier said than done. The vast majority of people just don’t know. However, some discover it late, while the lucky ones discover it very early in their lifetime. Years back Pastor Rick Warren published the book, Purpose Driven Life, that has sold over 40 million copies at the last count. It’s a good place to start.

Also, find out your passions and drives. What are you good at? What do people say you’re good at? What comes naturally to you? What are your natural inclinations? There are many personality assessment tests you can undertake to have an idea about your personality, strengths, and drives. To know your values and your make up in a very sublime way you can use some of the popular personal assessments, amongst them Myers Briggs, DISC, iDISC, PEP, Strengths Finder, Personality Code, Belbin Interplace, Explanatory Styles, Flip Flippen Personal Constraints, and others. I find Strengths Finder particularly useful. PEP (Path Elements Profile) developed by Laurie Beth Jones of Jesus CEO fame is also quite revealing and helpful. That said, know that human beings are complex and to box them into earth, water, wind and fire or some other category can be very constricting and would not tell the whole picture. Just know your personality is not you so don’t over labour the point. That said, play to your strengths and avoid the futility of trying to right your weaknesses. The good news is that almost all these psychometric assessments are available free online. For instance you can get your values right away for free at www.valuescentre.com.

The important thing about priorities is that if you don’t set them, others will set them for you and they may not always be what you want or would love. Set your priorities early in life and in your career. Look inwards to your passions and psychological pulls. Note the four life’s domains: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
