I have lived in Hackney for half of my life. And watched it gentrify and change around me; changes that have benefi ed everyone. The digital footprint of gentrifica on in Hackney can be found in the archive of images embedded in Google Street View. This book draws on this archive.
Everything depicted in the images in this book can be placed into the gentrifica on narra ves. However not a the images relate to these narra ves in ways that we might expect. What do we think gentrifica on looks like What is its impact on everyday lives?

There is an address instability in Google Street View: the address appearing in the top le -hand corner of eac image is o en not the actual address on the ground. The image sourced from Google Street View reflects the digital journey, in the way that it tends to capture an earlier point in the journey, frequently where it started.
