EARLY LIFE AND BEGINNINGS IN TELEVISION

Paul Haggis was born on March 10, 1953, in London, Ontario, Canada.

Raised in a middle-class family, his passion for storytelling and performance emerged at an early age. After studying cinematography at Fanshawe College, Haggis began his career in the entertainment industry as a writer for television shows like “One Day at a Time,” “The Facts of Life,” and “Different Strokes.” These early experiences honed his skills as a writer and provided a foundation for his future accomplishments.

Paul Haggis is best known as a screenwriter and producer for consecutive Best P icture Oscar winners Million Dollar Baby (2004) and Crash (2005), the latter of which he also directed.
