ARCHITECTURE STUDENT BASED IN MADRID
Hello! I am thrilled to be writing you today in connection with my application to study in Mackintosh School of Architecture at GSA Autumn 2024 semester. Currently, I am a third-course bachelor student of building architecture at Polytechnic School Architecture of Madrid, ETSAM.
Over the past three years at the School of Architecture in Madrid, my design journey has been a dynamic exploration of the interplay of space, form and context. Each project undertaken has been a unique endeavour, yet they all share a common thread: the nuanced manipulation of “layers”. These different layers: structure, modules and envelope, are the main principles in all my projects. In our architectural practice, we often encounter layers as physical, metaphorical, and conceptual elements. These layers serve as the foundation upon which our designs unfold, adding depth, richness, and complexity to the built environment.
Moreover, my interest in art and architecture extends beyond the curricular activities. Designing, street or human sketching or photography are my real passions, while I love water colouring or learning other art technics. In my free time, I often visit art galleries, museums, and exhibitions, immersing myself in the vibrant creative scene of Madrid and beyond. These experiences not only broaden my artistic horizons but also inspire new ideas and approaches to architectural design.
As I reflect on my journey thus far, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the opportunities that have shaped my growth as a designer. My experiences at the School of Architecture in Madrid have provided me with a solid foundation in architectural theory, technical skills, and design thinking. Now, as I embark on this new chapter at the Glasgow School of Art, I am excited to bring my unique perspective and passion for design to a diverse and dynamic creative community. With a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence, I am eager to continue exploring the layers of architectural expression and contributing to the future of the built environment.
