Taking Treatment To The People

HB Laser Skin Clinics combine multiple reach with low overheads

Some laser and other skin treatment machines are compact and portable – so why limit income and increase costs by installing them in one expensively fitted-out clinic? That’s what Hawkes Bay couple Tracey and Brendan Price asked themselves. Five years ago, they established HB Laser Skin Clinics, growing their business and reducing costs by investing more in technology and transporting it between several low-overhead treatment rooms in shared premises.

Their business model, with one set of equipment supporting multiple locations, was immediately successful. Now it’s being offered as a highly flexible franchise system for the right people: experience in the aesthetics industry would be an advantage.

Clinics can operate in sites such as a medical centre, professional chambers, a pharmacy or an office complex, with scheduled days taking the treatments to the people. There’s also a range of income streams including skin tightening, permanent hair removal, microdermabrasion, skin rejuvenation, peels, red vein and pigmentation treatment, laser tattoo removal, acne laser treatment and advanced skin analysis. Most of these treatments require a series of sessions, creating high value return income.

Immediate start possible

‘We opened our first three clinics in Hawkes Bay, then set up two further clinics in Palmerston North and Taupo last year,’ explains Tracey. ‘Although they are both doing very well, the time and distance involved means we are looking to franchise those straight away as established businesses. We’re also keen to hear from qualified skin therapists in those areas. At the same time, we welcome enquiries to establish clinics in other parts of the country.’ The investment required is from $49,500 +gst, plus equipment (which can be financed).

‘Franchisees need to share our passion for the aesthetics industry and the positive difference it makes to people’s lives. Our franchise package includes intensive systems, processes and equipment training, so a strong desire to learn new skills is a must, while there’s on-going support and mentoring to help you succeed.

‘While we do encourage multiple clinics, we are also happy to hear from potential franchisees who want to work out of just one location, others who want to add different treatments to their existing beauty clinic, and those wanting to focus on just one or a limited number of treatments.’

Way ahead

During 27 years in the aesthetics industry, Tracey has built many supplier relationships, including one with an Australian-based technology manufacturer whose product developments and support give HB Laser Skin Clinics market-leading capability. One final benefit: ‘Considering the challenges 2020 has presented, we have exceeded our expectations,’ Tracey says. ‘Talk to us and find out more.’
