THE PROJECT Instalation work to upgrade 12 lighthouses around the UK. SCOPE OF WORK Sub-contract personnel for installation work on lighthouse in challenging areas and conditions plus large scale structural construction. CHALLENGES Remote locations. Highly exposed enviromental conditions. Logistics (which required working with helicoptors to move people, kit and supplies between bases). THE PROJECT: WELCH HOUSE The award winning Welch House, designed by The Manser Practice, is a steel framed house on the water’s edge of the Isle of Wight. Raised seven metres above the ground to take advantage of sea views, the bespoke design used contemporary materials and production methods. SCOPE OF WORK Fabricated all structural steels [200 tonnes] Pre-assembly in the workshop. Assembly on site. CHALLENGES Site access: restricted by a single domestic driveway. Physical scale.
