Bravo To All Concerned For Our Amazing Events

I want to share with you some events w h i c h r e c e n t l y o c c u r r e d o r a r e h a p p e n i n g s o o n t h a t s h o u l d n o t b e missed. I also want to recognize how well residents and staff collaborate on p l a n n i n g a n d e x e c u t i n g e v e n t s f o r everyone in our community.

FA L L F L I N G , S e p t e m b e r 2 1 –L i f e s t y l e D i r e c t o r D e b b i e K e n t a n d members of the Lifestyle Committee coordinated efforts to kick off the fall season with a “Fall Fling.” This was an exciting opportunity for residents to m e e t n e w f r i e n d s a n d r e n e w l o n gstanding friendships in the spirit of fun. Guests enjoyed delicious refreshments and entered drawings for fabulous door prizes. Thanks to Debbie, the Lifestyle Team, and the Lifestyle Committee for making this event so special. I hope you were able to participate. If not, rumor has it that we can expect a “Spring Fling” next year

HOME SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO, September 30 – Jim Blossey, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, and his Block Captains partnered with Breeze Editor, Trish Williamson, to bring us an outstanding Home Safety & Health Expo More than 40 vendors who specialize in home safety and health services met with residents to discuss their products such as, burglar alarm systems, security doors and screens, window films and shades, including Home Depot & Sam's Club. Medical and Dental facilities were on hand with information about their products and services. The North Las Vegas Police and Fire Departments offered free home security surveys and safety tips. Kudos to the Neighborhood Watch team and Trish for hosting this very helpful and informative event.

NEW RESIDENT WELCOME, October 4 – The Lifestyle Department will host a New Resident Welcome & Chartered Club & Special Interest Group Expo. New residents will meet the Board of Directors, learn about all the amenities available to them, and enjoy light refreshments They will also have a chance to tour the Community Center, meet our 40+ amazing Clubs and Special Interest Groups, and have the opportunity to win many exciting door prizes. I encourage anyone who received an invitation to this event to attend. You will learn about your community and meet new friends. Thank you to Lifestyle Director, Debbie Kent, the Lifestyle team, and the Lifestyle Committee for hosting this event and providing another firstclass experience for our residents.

IMMUNIZATIONS, October 19 – Flu Season is Here! It's Time For Immunizations! For your convenience, we have arranged with Smith's Pharmacy/Kroger to offer a full range of immunizations on October 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Community Center Parking Lot. They will bring a unique, mobile vaccination clinic staffed by pharmacists from our local Smith's pharmacy located on Aliante Pkwy They offer the following vaccines: the new COVID-19 vaccine, FLU vaccine, PREVNAR vaccine (pneumonia), TdapWhooping Cough (Tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis) RSV (especially f o r p a t i e n t s 6 0 + w i t h u n d e r l y i n g m e d i c a l c o n d i t i o n s ) , a n d SHINGLES (patients 50+).

ADVERTISER'S MEET & GREET FOR RESIDENTS, October 26 – The Communications Committee and Breeze Editor, Trish Williamson, are hosting a FREE Advertiser's Meet 'n' Greet for residents on Thursday, October 26 from 9-11 a.m. in the Vista Room. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet advertisers who are featured in The Breeze on an informal basis. You will have a chance to meet directly with company representatives and enjoy light refreshments and giveaways. In addition, you will be eligible to win FREE door prizes provided by advertisers during the event.

FALL ARTS & CRAFT SHOW, November 10-11 – This popular two-day event, sponsored by the Lifestyle Department, will be held on Friday and Saturday, November 4 and 5, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is FREE. The general public is also invited to enjoy the fun, shop and get some great gift ideas for the upcoming holidays. The event, designed to showcase handmade artistic items, promises to be a fantastic shopping experience… just in time for the holidays. Special thanks to Front Desk Associate, Elaine Goddard, who flawlessly organizes and executes this event twice a year with the assistance of team members under the leadership of Lifestyle Director Debbie Kent.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the “BEHIND THE SCENES” heroes, our awesome Maintenance Team, led by Juan Macias. His team is responsible for setting up and taking down all the tables, chairs, and equipment needed for every event in the

Community Center They also make sure our center is sparkling clean and ready for you all the time. Bravo and thank you for your tireless efforts.
