May 2018 sees Uranus move from Aries where it has been since 2011 full time, into the sign of Taurus for an initial six month stay to November 6th. Uranus last entered Taurus like this in 1934. MARS SQUARE URANUS THE REVERBERATIONS OF MARS AND URANUS Mars is the planet that represents our drive, ambition, energy as well as our actions and desires. This also includes the masculine side of sexual desire and is about raw energy. In its positive state, Mars can help us to be assertive, driven, and directed. In a negative state, this can lead to rash attitudes, impulsive choices and even aggression.Â

MARS, ESSENTIALLY, IS OUR ANIMALISTIC NATURE It governs what triggers our anger, how we express anger and how we act when angry. But it is also about instant gratification, and needs to be balanced against other natal chart influences to ensure that we lead our lives in a socially acceptable way, so channeling its energies through sport or physical pursuits is good too.

May throws up a fascinating situation where Mars and Uranus are Squaring within this framework from the 7th to the 26th of the month. But from the 7th to the 15th, the Square sees Mars in Capricorn (where it is exalted, and therefore very positive) and Uranus in Aries (both Cardinal or leadership signs) and then they both Ingresss or move on the same day, into the Fixed signs of Aquarius and Uranus respectively continuing through to the 26th of May. This transit in general gives us the urge to break free from any restrictions in our lives and can even lead to rebellion against authority, rules and regulations or even our own inner limitations and conditioning.

There can be a desire to act rashly, and without considering the consequences. We may need to show some tolerance here, as this aspect, in its most severe case, could even lead to aggression and disruptive behaviour. If we feel as though we really need express this erratic energy, then we can put things in place that allow us to do this in a controlled way. We may want to get creative, with our work, our social circles and even in our intimate relationships. A new hobby could be very beneficial as we can still enjoy our kinks, but in a safe way.

Now the first stage of this aspect, across Capricorn and Aries, can see the above played out very typically. The move of Uranus into Taurus after spending the last 7 years in Aries is only temporary, lasting until 6th November 2018, but it will be back for an extended stay, next year from the 6th March 2019.
