New Faces On Council
Richard Pelletier
“...we have our hands full with an all new council, but have a good team, a strong team with different views and experience.” The Town of Ste. Anne is buzzing with the news of an all new elected Mayor and counsellors as the result of the 2014 municipal elections. Residents elected in new mayor, Richard Pelletier with 375 votes, along with four new councillors. Maranda Lanouette with 397 votes, Yvan St. Vincent with 393 votes, Ginette Gagnon with 339 and Wayne Setlack with 284 votes. “This is very exciting, it was a close
competition I only had 22 votes more than Bernie! I was getting nervous but I think I did very well at the forum and that helped with those last few votes,” said Pelletier. Pelletier is looking forward to the next four years. “I have to work hard. We have our hands full with an all new council, but have a good team, a strong team with different views and experience. I think we will work great together and get a lot done.” He would like the residents of Ste. Anne to inform him what they want as he starts working on setting goals. He feels strongly about dealing in facts and working together as a team. The newly elected Council has already hosted their first Organizational Meeting. Despite all being new to their jobs, Pelletier says the meeting went quite well. Council was informed of all of the ongoing projects in the community and the previous council’s vision, and Pelletier notes he is excited to continue to work on the existing projects and some new projects over the next four years. Yvan St. Vincent was selected for the role of Deputy Mayor at the meeting.
