The Town of Ste. Anne will be holding a Recreational Feasibility Consultation to present the proposals resulting from the Recreational Study. Ideas including splash pad, walking trails, skateboard park, tennis courts and beach volleyball. The public meeting will take place at the Seine River Banquet Centre on January 9th at 7:00 pm. Please attend this important meeting to share ideas.

Festival of Water Painting Courses Light Contest Winners On December 22 judges took a tour around Ste. Anne to look at all the wonderful light displays that residents took the time to display on their property this year. The results of the contest are as follows.

The Ste. Anne Cultural Committee will be offering water painting courses for individuals 10 years of age or older.

Snow Sculpture Contest Get you snow carving tools ready. The Comité culturel de Sainte-Anne Inc. is organizing a Snow Sculpture Contest for the Town of Sainte-Anne.

To participate, order your snow block by calling the town office at 204-422-5293. There is no fee to participate.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the three best sculptures. A team of judges will be deciding on their favorite sculptures on February 2nd, so make sure that your sculpture is complete by that day.

New Dog Catcher in Town Chicken Lo Mein with Broccoli "We started out making a chicken stir-fry and ended up with our very own delicious version of chicken lo mein! If you like Mongolian grill restaurants, then try this!"

Recipe makes 6 servings 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into strips 3 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste 1/2 pound spaghetti 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 small onion, chopped 3 stalks celery, chopped 2 carrots, thinly sliced 1 cup broccoli florets 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional)

Directions Combine chicken strips, cornstarch, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic powder in a large resalable plastic bag. Coat chicken with marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal bag. Refrigerate for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.

Heat 3 tablespoons vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Remove chicken from marinade and shake off excess; cook and stir in hot oil until chicken is no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes. Stir in onion, celery, carrots, and broccoli. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, if needed. Cover and cook until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.

Stir spaghetti into chicken and vegetable mixture; cover and simmer for 5 minutes more.
