Ste. Anne Rocks

A new past time for families is on the rise in the area. It’s similar to geo caching or Pokémon go but instead of searching for treasure or cartoon critters your searching for painted rocks.

Here’s how it works…

- Go to Facebook, search and join a page called Painted Rocks Ste. Anne, MB. - You paint a rock and make sure to paint Ste. Anne Rocks 2017 on the back and hide your rock around Ste. Anne, the RM or Richer.

- Once you have painted your rocks take a picture and post to the group with a hint of where you have hidden your rock.

- Make sure to hide your rocks on public property in safe places.

- When you’re out hunting for rocks, once you find them, take a picture and post to the group. You can

either keep the rock or hide it in a different location.

“I saw this idea and thought it would be neat to get this going around town!” explained Cathleen Roy. “We need people who are willing to start us off and paint some rocks to hide for others to find!”

Day Care Celebrates Canada Day The Children of the Universe Learning Center hosted a Celebration BBQ for Canada’s 150th birthday. The evening of fun was held at the Parc des Redemptoristes. The event was fun for the whole family. Kids enjoyed a bubble party, music with Summer Bounce Entertainment, face painting, bouncy castles and loads of games. Admission was free and the BBQ collected donations for the day care.

Ste. Anne Police Developing Youth Corps Do you want to become more involved in the community? Are you interested in a career in law enforcement? Do you want to have fun with other youth doing a variety of activities, including but not limited to sport nights, skills training, fun outings, and camping or other overnight activities?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then the Ste Anne Police Youth Corps may be for you! All youth who will be in Grade 8-12 next year are invited to come take part in the program.

This program may include activities such as: - Learning about policing as a career; - Sport nights; - Going on outings to fun locations (Laser tag, Sky Zone); - Learning survival skills and life skills;

Learn to Play Pickleball – Calling all active seniors. On Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 am, at the Ste. Anne Tennis Courts (weather permitting).

You only need good clean running shoes, sunscreen, water, and a lawn chair (optional). Drop in fee of $3 or register $25 for the season. Contact Erika 204 422-5843.

It’s Story Time at Your Library- Wednesday at 1 pm and Friday at 11 am at the Bibliothèque Sainte Anne Library. Come and enjoy story time with your preschooler. Please call or email to reserve a spot 204-422-9958 or email steannelib@steannemb. ca.

- Special training, such as First Aid; and, - Participating in community events (volunteering at Dawson Trail Days, etc.).

The youth who join will decide what activities and events we participate in.

In addition, we will be looking for adult volunteers. Anyone over 18 who is interested in volunteering their time is also encouraged to attend. The program will start shortly after classes resume in September.
